Is this where

today's shitblizzard of fake news, outrage-for-pay punditry and the craptacularization of journalism all began?

Is Bill McNeal really High Broderism's, Tweetitis' and O'Reillyosis' Patient Zero?

Film at 11.

Not so sure this is a patient zero situation, if for no other reason than those info-tainment bozos have absolute immunity from acquiring talent - especially talent like Phil Hartman had.

Gaëtan Dugas needed Air Canada to make an otherwise unlikely epidemiological impact. Broder, Tweety et al. were born challenged and have had their handicaps nurtured and rewarded their entire lives.

Gaëtan Dugas.

Wow. Not in years have I heard that name.

And The Band Played On.

Bless them all, our brothers and sisters, Dugas helped to kill.

And, in no small part, fuck the CDC at that time, too.

We Survive On. All of us. Gay or not, infected or not.
We could ALL be infected, to this day. Gay or not.

We survive on.

And that's our job.
We should do it well.
And never forget.
Never forget.

And help our brothers and sisters to survive.

And ourselves, too.

That's our job.

Drifty. I bow.

CL-I bow to you, too.

And yes, slainte va! (sp)

Larue,

You just made me realize that its been almost 20 (!!) years since I read that book. Unbelievable. One particular & peculiar impact the book had on me is that I cannot hear or read the term of art "Patient Zero" without Dugas' name popping into my head.

Randy Shilts, RIP.
