Clinton and McCain needn't worry

Everyone knows that at times of deep, national disunity and peril, the candidacies of rangy, fledgling, long-shot, smooth-talkin', funny-named gentlemen from Illinois never amount to a damn thing anyway.

But I thought Bush was Lincoln. Oh right.

Now THAT is a piece of photoshoppe GENIUS! :o)

But, of course, it's just more empty "motivational" stuff. :o) I mean, why on earth would the democrats want to put up a candidate who has:

De-railed the Coronation Express...

Single-handedly WRECKED the GOP's
"Safe South" strategy by doing things like pulling 136,000 more votes in the Virginia primary than ALL of the republicans combined...

Capitalized wonderfully, on the anger and frustration of jillions of pissed off Democrats and Independents, to create turnouts that are making the RNC shit green nickels...

and whom, if this primary campaign were a World Cup Soccer Final, has hardly put a foot wrong...while his two opponents, Gooper and Gooper-lite, blunder around like a couple of "Lurch" clones, playing the Brazilian National Side.

What must we do?

I know! Let's try to finish this off in Texas and Ohio. :o)

Obama may indeed win it all, but it will not be easy.

The Unholy Alliance of the Elephascists and the Corporate Holodeck Media have not yet concluded that Obama will be the Democratic nominee.

They have treated him RELATIVELY gently, compared to the 30-year smear campaign they have run against HRC. [30 years going back to the time when Bill first ran for governor of the Arkanshire]

If the Democrats nominate Obama, as appears more likely at this time, the Unholy Alliance will turn their full smear artillery against Obama, and that "Hypnobama" charm won't work on them.

And make no mistake, the difference between the negative campaigning HRC's campaign has mustered, rather half-heartedly, against Obama--and the negative campaigning that the Unholy Alliance will unabashedly unleash against him--is much the same as the difference between the laser beam on your CD player and the main phaser batteries of a Romulan Warbird.

And I mean the TNG/DS9 Warbird, not the TOS version.

Many of our fellow citizens still don't know better than to believe what the Unholy Alliance tells them.

Plus, let's not forget that even if enough of us palefaces have repented of racism, Diebold and friends could always switch votes from Obama to the Elephascist candidate and BLAME racism. [For that matter, if HRC surprises us and captures the nomination, they could do the same thing to her and blame sexism.]

Even if the Oborg finish off the Clintonian Union Tuesday, they will face the much greater challenge of the Elephascist Dominion.

I will leave optimism to the naive.

There's a lot of crap comin Obama's way, no doubt.
His skin color, the lies of his Muslim ties, the Iraqi/Brit businessman who loaned him millions, the house he bought allegedly WITH some of those millions.

Obama's pullback of SERIOUS legislation of the coal industry and other items of 'caving in' and lying about the promises he made will be held up and he will be SEVERELY villified for sure.

But he can handle it. How the general public handles it will be the difference.

I gotta hope the blues and even the yellow dog blues have enuff sense to back Obama, and get the GOP out of our lives . . .

But no doubt, white women of EVERY class and state will be told to fear for their womanhood and for that of their daughter's.

If the GOP goes to the depths I think it will, then I think the country will finally accept that ignoring science, and civil and women's rights, is just too old school anymore.

It's a new Camelot, and the young, black and rainbows SHOULD make for a large beating of the GOP. Along with the progressive's, and any literate middle class person . . . it should be a runaway victory.

But it's still a long haul, and because Nader had a gun put to his head, I'm not sure whether it was to hurt the dem's, or the pub's. I don't THINK anyone will fall for Nader on the dem side . . . not again.

Only DIebold, voter suppression, and thugs at the polls can hurt the dems.

Well, n then there's that martial law insanity from a false flag incident created by Shooter/BoyKing wherin we don't have ANY elections at all.

Yep, it's gonna be a hot, nasty, mean long summer.

I wonder if agent provocateurs will inflame the urban ghetto's as this battle heats, contributing to a call to martial law, over the 'racial divide'? Blaming it all on Obama, of course.

I hope not, we've had our shares of Black Days In July (Gordon Lightfoot song) in The Motor City and Watts in my times.

At least we now know that Obama can throw a punch. McCain certainly knows it ;) I don't think the Swiftboating will work this time.

Mmhmm, but the genius of it for me is swirling around in the slave become the master— who freed the slaves.

Lincoln said: "I believe this government cannot endure permanently half slave and half free."

The same might be said of a people half red and half blue.

Tanbark, if you write a blog I'd like to read it.

Gay veteran - Obama hasn't seen nothin' yet! We don't know how well he can stand up to the Republican slime machine, because he's yet to be tested.

WOW...larue, I have been LOOKIN for some Seldome Scene, but I have been spelling it wrong! Cool, thanks!

Michael Hart, I concur with your posit about whether we can survive, half red and half blue.

But hoss, we AIN'T half red, mostly 23% and less.

The middle of the road has been pushed so far right, Attila The Hun looks left.

So as the pendulum swings, as history shows it ALWAYS does, the true center re-emerges.

I'll offer, that center is a LOT more closer to the middle than it's been for decades, already.

Hence, I have hope for change.

Aside from the control of the corporate 1% who dictate pretty much everything that happens to us.

And to the world.

Here's to hope, and hope for change. I don't really think it's half red . . . I think we've been hustled due to our own ineptness and laziness, by a minority political influence paid for by corporate interests, ever since they took out JKF, MLK, and RFK.

Now, it's a chance for make or break, again.

I'll take any gains we can get, that benefit the masses, and not the 1%. *G*

IvoryBill and Larue:

When the GOP "takes off the gloves" what are they going to accuse Obama of?

Saying, in 2002, that for goatboy to pull the trigger on Iraq, would be a mistake? :o)

I giggle.

That he's black?

If Jim Crow aint dead, he's sho-nuff on life-support. :o)

(BTW, check out Obama's vote totals in the GOP's "safe south". :o) )

That he's a muslim plant; looking to sabotage the Dow-Jones and impregnate our women with Allah-jizz?

Obama's making a point, every other speech, of sayin' that he's a Christian and that he prays every day.

That the Rezko thing is evidence of his crookedness?

John McCain has some foul-ass skeletons in his closet that haven't BEGUN to rattle them bones.
Do you really think that he wants to start talking about who's got who in which pocket?

In fact, today, on CNN, I saw HILLARY bringing up Rezko. I wanted to yell at the TV: Thanks, Hil, for, ONE MORE FUCKING TIME, using GOP talking points, and by the way, how do you pronounce "Norman Hsu?" and his $850,000?

Are they going to come after Obama for Farrakhan's hateful spew, when Obama has utterly repudiated it?

At the same time that John McCain is farting and tapdancing around with John Hagee, and cherry-picking which piece of HIS hateful bile, to ignore, and which piece to "tsk-tsk" about, are the gooopers going to keep on trying to make political hay out of Obama-Farrakhan?

And finally, you people who are so worried about Obama's electability need to cop to one simple fact:

If the democrats are stupid enough to somehow salvage Hillary's campaign and nominate HER, the republicans won't need any of those issues, for the dead-lock reason that Clinton, herself, will be THE issue.

And that, dudes, is a platform for otherwise-sacrificial-goat St. John-the-Course-Stayer to run on, that will have Karl Rove's third-member quivering with joy.

Ivory Bill Woodpecker said...

*sigh* Tanbark, McCain can fart and tapdance with Hagee as much as he sees fit, because THE CORPORATE HOLODECK MEDIA WILL NOT CALL HIM ON IT, NOR WILL THEY CALL HIM ON HIS SHADY DEALINGS.

The CHM WILL call Obama on anything even REMOTELY suspicious in his background, and if they can't find anything real, they'll make something up. It won't matter if Obama is innocent of any wrongdoing in the Rezko matter, as he probably is. The Clintons were innocent in the Whitewater matter, and the CHM hung it around their necks nonetheless.

And yes, they'll use exactly the smears you mentioned, and a large portion of our fellow citizens will at least half-believe them.

MOST OF OUR FELLOW CITIZENS STILL GET THEIR [DIS]INFORMATION FROM THE CHM. THE CHM IS AN ALLY OF THE GOP. WHAT PART OF THAT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?

It's sad to watch the opiate of hope blunt a once-sharp mind.

I would have said "false hope", but in this universe of entropy, all hope is ultimately false.

So I hope this plane of existence isn't the only one.

Ivory Bill Woodpecker said...

But yes, HRC would probably face an even harder struggle. That does not mean Obama will have it easy.

Some people just can't accept the fact that a reluctance to be assimilated into the Oborg Collective does not always equal loyalty to the Clintonian Union.

Anonymous said...

Bill; (sigh....) They're already calling him on it; I had lunch and watched CNN get their teeth into it even better than they got into Obama-Farrakhan. :o)

The notion that Clinton and Obama will be even CLOSE to equally as effective against the repubs in the general is horseshit.

How is she going to go after them about Iraq? All they have to do is bring up all the speechs she made supporting it.

All they have to do is show the clip of her, at bush's last SOTU bullshit-and-koolaid salespitch, when she applauded enthusiastically as he prattled about how well the surge was working.

What they will NOT show, 3 months from now, is Obama sitting there like the Mummy, to show his disapproval, and incidentally, to show the courage and intelligence that has been so lacking in Hillary Clinton's campaign.

But we may be approaching some resolution in all this. If Obama can win Texas today, and run well in Ohio, she will not have a meaningful delegate pick-up, in two states in which she needed to win, and win big. If he can, against the odds, take Ohio, as well, the pressure will increase exponentially for her to get out. And NOT to fart around with it.

The day that it becomes apparent that Barack Obama will be our nominee, there will quickly follow an audible sigh of resignation as the republicans standing on the deck of the Titanic begin to deal with the fact that the ONLY rescue ship they had in this election, is preceding them to the bottom.

The genius of Drift's 'shoppe of Lincoln/Obama is this:

The bloody mayhem and pillaging of the truth and of our military and our treasury, that george bush and his people have created (with Hillary Clinton's help) is not TOO far removed from the efforts of a bunch of wealthy southern aristocrats to enshrine and protect the practice of enslaving human beings so that a wealthy elite could sustain themselves as near-feudal overlords.

And I believe Barack Obama is far more committed to making a real attempt to do something about it, than is the democrat opposing him, who is now, not suprisingly, stooping to the republican shitspeak of:

"Vote for me or the terrrists will eat your children."

At this point, I'm starting to think that if Clinton were giving speeches dressed in an SS Madchen outfit, and some of us pointed it out, we would be savaged for "misogynim" and "panty-sniffing".

I'm tired of it, and I'm tired of people either determinedly ignoring, or defending her, for her "triangulating" to the right, who still want to be inside the progressive tent.

And.... I'm practicing my "hook'em, 'Horns!" gesture, for later tonight. :o)

Ivory Bill Woodpecker said...

I'm tired of BOTH the triangulating DLC shills, both the clumsy, desperate one who is stooping to Elephascist talking points on "terrism" and the smooth one who praises Ronald Antichrist Reagan and mimics Elephascist talking points on Social Security and talks about reaching out to the Elephascists, which is as if FDR had tried to make nice with the Axis.

Oh well, I have no children and I never will, so as long as this creaky monstrosity of a country holds together long enough for me to die of old age first--I turn 45 in May--SFW?
