From CNN:
Lieberman: McCain can reunite our country

(CNN) -- Sen. Joe Lieberman is crossing party lines and endorsing Republican Sen. John McCain for president.

"Being a Republican is important. Being a Democrat is important. But you know what's more important than that? The interest and well-being of the United States of America," the Democrat-turned Independent said in announcing his decision Monday morning in New Hampshire.

"Let's put the United States first again, and John McCain is the man as president who will help us do that," he said.

Lieberman, the Democrats' vice presidential nominee in 2000, said the next president needs to "break through the reflexive partisanship that is poisoning our politics today and stopping us from getting anything done in Washington."
...

He still caucuses with the Democrats, giving them their razor-thin majority in the chamber. Lieberman chairs the Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee, and he still attends weekly Democratic strategy meetings. But his adviser said the endorsement appears to be a "hangover" from the 2006 race, when top Democrats backed the Democratic nominee, Ned Lamont, rather than support Lieberman's Independent candidacy.

"I have the greatest respect for Joe, but I simply have to disagree with his decision to endorse Senator McCain," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nevada, told CNN in a written statement.

Lieberman's office called Reid's office Sunday to inform the Democratic leader of his decision to endorse a Republican, a Reid spokesman said.

In response to the endorsement, Al From, founder and CEO of the Democratic Leadership Council, said, "I am very saddened by Senator Lieberman's choice, and profoundly disagree with it. We need to elect a Democratic president in 2008."
...
Ah, poor Kapo Joe. Just can't help but flash those those true colors.

Can't be bothered to wait for the primaries to even begin.

Hell, just for the sake of holding one little hankie modestly over the his oozing, Republican sores, The Last Honest Man couldn't even be bothered to whore out his two-bucks-a-go ass endorse the "best" in both Parties as a token gesture in the direction of the faux "bipartisanship" altar at which he sacrificed the last shred of his character.

Betrayer of colleagues, conscience and country all in the never ending pursuit of the greater glory of...Joe Lieberman.

Sadly with Holy Joe, it will always be Lieberman First, Lieberman Last, Lieberman Always.

Happily, I cannot think of a single soul who gives two fingers of otter droppings what this political used condom has to say about a damned thing.

McCain seemed pleased with the endorsement. Oh, um, right. Never mind.

Here's a taste of what this maroon had to say about the endorsement:

"It affirms so much of what is right in American politics[.] * * * Maybe we just took a big step forward toward what David Brooks wrote about so promisingly in 2006[.]"

Right on, lets not get ahead of ourselves here. It doesn't mean shit until Zell Miller blesses him then its a done deal.

Let us all thank whatever gods we worship that we are not sitting here bemoaning the fact that Vice-President Lieberman has a seeming lock on the Democratic nomination in 2008.

Cleter, you just harshed my post-Driftglass glow! ::sniffle::

Lie-bermann just likes attention. The reason he endoresed McCain is not because he thinks a Republican (or this Republican) would make a better president, but because McCain was the only one that asked for his endorsement.

Hitch your wagon to a dead horse Joe,then watch as the rest of the train leaves you in the dust with the rest of your Repuke buddies.
Let the Donner party of one begin.

They made that deal last year when they were trying out for the lead role at the Brothers' Kagen AEI camp for wayward neocons. Wonder if hillary will endorse John McCain't too?

They just don't run out of lies, do they?

2006, when top Democrats supported Lamont. Yeah.

Hey Myrtle June, I think that you are a leading edge thinker and acute observer. Not that many people are aware of the AEI stink-tank extraordinaire and its' long list of Zio-Cons that control our government. In fact they practically have their own television station C-Span which devotes several hours per day to their propaganda wing and its' gasbags.
