Dear Democrats

In case you've forgotten, we are your employers.

We hired you to do a job.

If you cannot do that job -- if you cannot step into the arena and fight for us and our values just as hard as Republicans fight for the degenerate agendas of the scum and bigots who send them to Washington -- then get the fuck out of the way.

If you cannot fight for us and will not step aside for someone who will -- however long it takes and however much it costs -- we will flog your lazy, gutless asses from the offices you hold in our name and then piss on your political graves.

We hired you to do a job.

And we will not put up with your excuses, your temporizing, or your God-damned dawdling service any more.

The problem with the Dem legislature isn't that they "can't" do the job that we the voters hired them to do. It is that they don't want to, because their real employers are not us voters.

Bad Democrat. No Banana.

F*ck Ch*ck (Schumer) ... who will support confirmation of Mikey Mukasey as U.S. G-AG a) the Mucosa Mukasey who can't say that waterboarding is torture, and (b) the Chucky who can't find his spineless ass with both hands in bright sunlight.

D & C Pelosi (dialate and curretage) for her anti-democratic pelvic inflammation and her support of Bush-clone fake Democrat Al Wynn over real Democrat Progressive Donna.

There is a Donor Strike underway against these Fake Dem Slag Heaps ... and for individual ActBlue candidates. Check out http://www.democrats.com/donor-strike-2007.

BAD DEMOCRAT. NO BANANA.

They don't work for us, they work for corporations, same as the Republicans.

I am so fucking sick of the spinless gutless motherfuckers. I hope they all lie rotting on the street in front of their mother's house like they leave so many others! FUCKEM - EVERY GODDAMNED ONE OF EM! A person can COUNT ON ONE HAND the numbers of them with any sort of intestinal fortitude! It don't look like any numbers of us are going to hit the streets, and most of the dem motherfuckers (who are supposedly our hired hands) do not give one SHIT what we send in emails or snail mails, and wouldn't know real truth if it shit in their fucking shoe!
This from Arianna this morning as example: Judiciary Committee members Chuck Schumer and Dianne Feinstein, whose support virtually guarantees Mukasey's confirmation.

While I can't imagine how frustrating it must be (being a UK citizen I can't do much to change things over there other than begging my American friends' parents to not vote Republican this time round), I can't help but feel that the Democrats in Congress are stuck between the proverbial rock and hard place when it comes to the current situation.

Caving on the Mukasey appointment looks unforgivable of the face of it, and indeed it's a terrible blow. But I don't doubt for a second that Bush would have carried through on his threat to leave the AG's seat empty if Mukasey wasn't confirmed, and the Mighty Republican Media Wurlitzer would have cranked itself back into action claiming that Democrats are 'weak on domestic law and order issues'. The same applies to stopping the war by withdrawing funding - again I believe the Bush Administration would have no scruples about keeping the soldiers there until the last penny was spent, all the while the media talking point jukebox says that 'The Democrats are abandoning the troops in the field'.

I do believe that the Republican media machine has lost a degree of clout and credibility - but as is the case in most societies where the media has such an influence, enough people tend to believe the last thing they hear from the TV to make life really difficult for the Democrats.

Which is not to say that the Bush Dogs shouldn't be challenged and hopefully replaced with freshmen who actually represent their constituency, but I fear that doing what they know to be right at this point in time would only result in a pyrrhic victory, which works in Hollywood, but would have severely negative consequences in the real world.

I am going to have a look at unity08.com Could be an alternative?

My sentiments exactly, driftglass. And for the Democrats getting pissy about the people getting uppity: "And the horse you rode in on."

This is great! Do you mind if I send it to Peter Welch? It sums up my feelings for him well. I'm not too much more pleased with Leahy this term either actually. I'll credit you if you'd like.

I am personally sick of people making excuses to confirm this Mukasey asshole. He knows water boarding, or partial drowning interrogation, is torture. He considers the president above the law. And Democrats should confirm him because the alternative is being called mean names?

Please. Reject Mukasey.

jpsy— so long as this president doesn't give a tinker's damn about the rule of law, no candidate he nominates to be AG can be an acceptable one. Others have covered this conundrum, and done a better job of it. With that in mind, the position should be left empty until either the president starts following the law, or until we change presidents (by whatever means).

mr. natural— short answer regarding "Unity08": no. It's the same blinkered Broderism in a slightly shinier suit.

Alrighty thanks sandman...I will take your word for it. I don't have time for "DLC-lite".

I think Schumer is basing his decision on some notion of passing a bill outlawing torture that Mukasey will then support.

Jesus H. Christ. Can you say "signing statement"?

They should have already had the no vote on him and two more of bush's noms for AG. And when the hell is the frog marching!

I think the elections commission should start giving them some voter supression citations.

Kucinich is introducing a resolution to talk about the impeachment of cheney on Tuesday the 6th.

When I lived in Fairbanks we used to have a pool of when the river would "breakup" in the spring. At least we had some idea when that would happen. This congress shit, not so much. I propose a pool just the same. :-)

(Put me down for the 9th of November)

This Schumer thing made me sick. I'm a New Yorker, so I shot off an email, but they ignore them, I'm sure.

They even ignore marches! We don't see them on television, so it's like they don't exisit.

We have to come up with a new tactic. Even if it's "Everybody send a pretzel to the White House" day.

Yes. Pretzels. For the twisted b@$t@rds who reside there.

So far, Amy Klobuchar has been a major disappointment. I've sent emails, but haven't received responses.

Unless I see some serious modifications in her voting behavior, she's lost my support. Too bad - we all had high hopes for her.

The main problem with Mukasey is not that he refuses to call water-boarding torture. No, the main problem is that he believes Bush has monarchal powers.

It is LONG past time to understand that Democratic "incompetence" or "spinelessness" has become COMPLICITY.
