Another funny commercial
About Bush’s favorite "Democrat-With-Benefits". (tm)
(No, the ad has nothing to do with the picture. This graphic is mine own, although if the Lamonites like it and want to throw a little credit my way...)
In the way it harnesses its scrambling, swarming insurgent energy to use incisive, mocking humor, more and more the Lamont campaign reminds me of the Wellstone campaign.
Like a young George Foreman, the Holy Joe crew doesn’t seem to know how to cope with speed and precision attacks. It has all the the resources it needs to win any kind of straight-out punch-up, but they lumber flatfooted and throw mighty (and expensive) haymakers at empty air while the Lamontites seem to be able to continually dance and stick and move.
An 18-year incumbent can tolerate a lot of hull breeches and still limp into port a winner, but one thing it cannot survive is becoming a punch-line. It cannot survive people across the country and across Connecticut spending a long, hot summer laughing them.
Making a joke out of them.
As in this audio ad.
("...or run a risk of future elderliness." Heh. Now that's just plain funny.)
