I notice they are still not encouraging their members to join the "militia" (ie. National Guard, US Army) as required by their beloved Second Ammendment.

I may own firearms, but the NRA truly pisses me off. Give me the address of a group of gun owners who aggressively, LOUDLY, and by-far-primarily campaign for the enforcement of existing gun laws and the FUNDING for enforcement, and I'm SO there.

The current symptomatic focus on the firearms debate is remarkably reminiscent of how this country deals with anything (such as drugs) that is tied to undesirable outcome - punitively. Education and PREVENTION (don't give firearms to violent people) are far more effective than prohibition. You'd think we learned that lesson in the 20's. You'd think we'd treat guns (carry permits) and cars (driver's licenses) on the same model.

I have high hopes for the new focus on bullying in the schools... Addressing the culture of violence in the young will not have benefits for many, many years... and if it is done, as it is now, without moves to decrease the sense of alienation and frustration - especially among the poor and dispossessed - that are deep motivations for violence, then nothing will come of it. Let's hope that prevention and curative measures catch on a bit more, because punitive Old-Testament measures just legitimize the idea that power and violence are one and the same.

All that prohibition will do is create yet another class distinction in a system that is already well-known for those who can afford to get around the rules, and those who can't.

I guess now they'll send Charlton Heston to New Orleans for a rally as soon as someone wipes the tapioca pudding off his chin.

I think Bush has taken outsourcing to a new and terrifying level.

Please read this. Think about this, and think about the implications of using combat soldiers for police work. Think how well it worked over in Iraq. Think how well it will work over here.

I have been following a site now for almost 2 years and I have found it to be both reliable and profitable. They post daily and their stock trades have been beating
the indexes easily.

Take a look at Wallstreetwinnersonline.com
