What says "Thanks" to Steve and Jen...

...better than a Pink Baby Hippo Plastic Firearm?Posted by Hello

I’ve never met Steve Gilliard or Ms. Jen.

Who knows, but what one or the other might be feel moved to swing past some convention/Liberal-Satyricon that I might be attending, or business takes me to NY, or if they ever leave their Enchanted Lands and pass through the Safe, Blue Oasis of Chicago, it is possible, but just as likely not.

So what?

Like so many of you, I’ve come to know them by their words, and value them. Through their Open 24/7 Blog Home Place, I know a little about their past(s), birthdays, family backgrounds, health and taste(s) in booze, food, sports, lovers and politics. Stuff I couldn’t tell you at knifepoint about cousins of mine, I could tell you about them. And they share those things freely with the world through the big front window of their capacious Addams’s Family Mansion.

I hung out there -- and still do and will -- for the same reason anybody hangs out anywhere. A lot of places serve a decent burger, but only a handful of them serve a good meal.

Steve and Jen serve a good meal, and only ask that if you have something to say, you speak up and put a little skin into it. Be too much of a smartass, and you’ll get smacked. Too much of a dumbass, same deal. You’ll learn, or smack back, or back off, of dig in your heels, or be vindicated, or whatever. But unless you go waaaay out of your way to be nothing but obnoxious, and at a 120-Decibel-Loud, Toxic, and set-your-head-on-fire Nuts level, and post repeated calls for the Violent Overthrow of Petting Zoos, you won’t get tossed.

You’ll get mocked. Oh Boy Howdy Yes! You’ll get your monkey skull hollowed out and serially shat in in front of God and Everybody by the cadre of smart, interesting, opinionated, musky-but-in-a-good-way, lunatics that Steve’s honest, muscular prose has drawn in.

You’ll be shown to be a fool...but not shown the door.

Steve appears to be as unsentimental and pragmatic a Warrior as the angels have on their side in these perilous times, so I’ll keep it simple.

First, money talks. He’s a Working Writer, and the most sincere form of applause is crisp and green and has serial numbers. Say nice things and spread the word -- I don't know a writer anywhere that doesn't like to have their craft honestly appreciated -- but if at all possible, hit his tip jar when he sets it out: he’s fucking well earned it.

Second, in the Digital World, he and Jen gave me a place to be and now, if I’m lucky, a place from whence to have come. For that they’ll always have my thanks, and always have a place on my couch. Either when in town...or when they have to go underground once the Homeland Security Nightwatch comes to cart them off to one of the many, soon-to-be-opened, Four Star, Ronald Reagan Memorial Goodthinkfulness Spas for political reformatting :-)

Well actually...Gilly can have the couch; there's plenty of unused real estate in my California King for Ms. Jen.

And did I mention I have a Most Righteous hot tub? :-)

_You’ll get mocked._

But I didn't come here for abuse, I came here for an argument.

Jen here!

Oooh, Japanimation Crapola! LOVE IT!

Waiting for my coedine to kick in...so I will now dream of BAYBEE HIPPOS....

Oh yeah, and PLEASE KEEP WRITING.

And DO tell Gilly and I if you ever do come out here.

California King bed? I love those things--I am a Tosser Turner and Blanket Stealer, so the bigger the better.

The only reasons why I don't have one just for my own self:

--Too fucking big to get into most NYC apartments

--Next to NO sheet selections available

--Turning that mattress by yourself is a bee-yotch--I have a full (not a queen) and I can manage it fine by myself

:)

I never realised how important a good bed was until I got a bad back.
Over 1,400 members of BackCare, the national organisation for healthy backs, responded to our Back Your Bed survey - the first of its kind to explore the views on beds of those who suffer from bad backs and the experts who treat them.
SUMMARY OF THE BACK YOUR BED SURVEY RESULTS
Buying a good bed is one of the most important purchases you can make when it comes to back pain relief. Nine out of 10 say their bed is more important to them since they developed back pain; 98% agreed that a good, supportive bed could help a bad back. 82% of experts felt that the right bed could help prevent back pain.
"If you cannot rest properly and sleep well, this hinders recovery from back problems."
A firm, supportive bed, not a hard one, can do wonders to ease and even prevent bad backs. Only 22% of sufferers had bought a bed classed as orthopaedic; while 28% describe their bed support as medium. Only 6% of experts would recommend an orthopaedic bed to patients.

Three quarters would be prepared to spend more than 500 on a new bed: compared with just 36% of the normal population. Nearly one in 10 would pay more than 2,000 for a new bed to get the comfort and relief they need.
Back pain sufferers are twice as likely as the rest of the population to own a new bed - 50% have beds that are less than five years old compared to the national average of 24%.
88% are satisfied with their choice but 16% said they would get a better quality one next time; while 9% would opt for something firmer; 5% said they would choose a softer bed and 4% wanted a bigger one.

Sufferers are three times more likely to replace their beds when they no longer feel comfortable (65% compared with just 20%).
31% own a king size bed compared with 11% generally. Separate mattresses zipped together are also popular with couples whose support needs differ or who are easily disturbed by their partner's movements. top
So worth considering when buying a

Hi there blog owner! I am searching blogs to find information and sources to help with my website:http://www.horse-lover-gift-ideas-central.com/horse_figurine.html My site is fairly new about 8 months old and have a google pr of 3 and get about 50 people a day to visit. My site has pegasus breyer horse and is all affiliate merchandise.
This is a new frontier for my wife and I and don't have very much experience but a friend suggested searching blogs to get ideas about how people sale and also what kind of information they offer their customers and clients. We are begining to make some good money selling pegasus breyer horse related articles but I also want to offer my customers some quality information to go along with good deals. If you make it to my site and can offer some constructive critisizm I will take it into consideration or if you have some ideas it will be greatly appreciated. Remember we are on a budget and we do all the work ourselves.

I'm am so happy to be cured after suffering for 13 years of asthma that I would like to inform all readers of your valuable blog about the treatment for asthma in child that gave me my life back. To all sufferers I would like to say never to give up and give this one a try. Although everybody react different to specific asthma treatments, it is the only treatment that helped me taking my life back. I'm so happy I even haven't got any words for it! Benny.

While most people understand that nutrition is a major factor in keeping our bodies healthy, sport nutrition requires eating healthy to an even higher level. A wise athlete recognizes that sport nutrition is very important and is something to be taken seriously if they want to maintain good health. Ensuring you are dieting correctly and effectively is more important than just cutting back how many meals you take in a day. A determination of how your metabolism reacts and handles the processing of all three categories can help you determine if you are consuming too much fat, carbohydrates or protein. Knowing your body fat number and following an exercise and eating program to maintain your muscle mass is good when you are trying to build muscle and loose fat. When it comes to sport nutrition, there is no exact diet that works for all people or all the differnt sports out there. A determination of nutritional needs can be derived from the ratio of your body mass to your fat mass. You can find more sport nutrition details at http://www.health-nutrition-sport-supplement.info/
