Church leaderships , not only Methodists are merely human.
The message of faith of the New Testament defies the Old Testament.
It is no wonder those with the conservative ideology fall prey to the zealotry
many a Philistine endured in the day. So it was written.
What is evident to me is the merging of political conservatism and the Christian based religion.
No, I am not breaking any news. Jesus responses where stated by his apostles as witnesses. were clear on the matter.

serving and worshiping the master of a political ideology and the word of God. definitely violated a Commandment or two let alone the path Jesus and his apostles accounts of the path his laid out to walk toward.
What the Church leaders find themselves in is the self righteous zealotry that they know more of faith that was laid out. They forget even one Apostle sold out Jesus to his powerful objectors and with the blessings of other religious leaders of the day. Who also fell prey to their own self righteousness.

I mean, should the Catholic Church separate those who desire the continued covering up of pedophile priests from those in the church that look to clean it up to prevent the abuse?
Does the Catholic Church ban women who have had abortions?
Will the Methodist Church come to banning anyone who holds the view of Pro Choice?
