Venerable American Manufacturer To Go Out Of Business

The massive stampers are silent now and the lathes have spun their last as sad news arrives from Washington D.C. that another renowned American manufacturer -- the Republican-led House Intelligence Committee -- will be shuttering its profitable Benghaaaazi Conspiracy Division:
House panel: No administration wrongdoing in Benghazi attack

(08-01) 11:42 PDT WASHINGTON -- The House Intelligence Committee, led by Republicans, has concluded that there was no deliberate wrongdoing by the Obama administration in the 2012 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans, said Rep. Mike Thompson of St. Helena, the second-ranking Democrat on the committee.

The panel voted Thursday to declassify the report, the result of two years of investigation by the committee. U.S. intelligence agencies will have to approve making the report public.

Thompson said the report "confirms that no one was deliberately misled, no military assets were withheld and no stand-down order (to U.S. forces) was given."
...
While this move will undoubtedly result in the loss of some highly-specialized Benghaaaazi Conspiracy manufacturing and distribution jobs, industry experts remains very positive that the overall market demand for Benghaaaazi Conspiracy products will remain robust and that the loss of production capacity from the House Intelligence Committee shutdown can easily be compensated for by increased output from Fox News, Hate Radio and the Darryl Issa Conspiracy Fun Factory.

PS:  I saw this article shortly after it was published and was gearing up to write a post about it when I noticed that, at the time, no other news outlets were reporting on it.  None.  Zip.  While there were the usual flood of wingnut-driven Benghaaazi hair-on-fire "news" stories choking the internet over the weekend, so far as I could find, there was nothing related to this story (other than this SFGate article) when I searched for news about "House Intelligence Committee" or "Mike Thompson".  Because when it comes to Benghaaazi (and pretty much every other wingnut fairy tale), as far as the Beltway Media is concerned, if it's not roaring out of Roger Ailes' Bullshit Machine, it's not news.

Well, if Fox Propaganda Network did this last year -- http://t.co/fWQynXivsf -- they can surely cobble together something conspiratorial from this yet-to-be-declassified report.

Well! It's 4 p.m. on a Friday, just before the first weekend in August when this report shambles out of the House Intelligence Committee. Traditionally, a very slow time in the news business.

I wonder (no I don't, not really) if this report will receive the same wall-to-wall sensationalistic coverage that the original breathless announcements about the committee's formation received? They have labored mightily and brought forth something slightly less substantial than a flea's fart.

Or is this report just another distraction from What Really Happened in Benghazi?

Pitch perfect metaphor there Mr DG.

Of course another option could be is that the Benghazi Conspiracy Division is seamlessly integrating the knowledge base of its resources into a new strategic alignment - The Kenyan Divestment Initiative.

As if facts ever got in the way of a good talking point in GOPTV land...

Some manufacturing jobs are sure to be lost. Recent statistics show there are more manufacturing jobs being created in the US now which is hopeful for those looking for jobs.
