The Idiocracy Is Upon Us

Trump expected to tap Carl’s Jr. boss Puzder to be Labor Secretary

...
Mr. Puzder, an adviser and contributor to Mr. Trump’s campaign, has criticized the Affordable Care Act and has argued against raising the federal minimum wage higher than $9 an hour. Democrats have called for raising the federal minimum wage for as high as $15.
Surprisingly, the GOP's "Idiocracy: The Home Game" is turning out to be much less* swampy-drainy than they had originally promised.  But the meatheads won't notice or care because the dumpsters out of which the meatheads consume their "news" will never have this on the menu.

Important trivia:  The movie "Idiocracy" leans heavily on a short story entitled "The Marching Morons" written by C. M. Kornbluth in 1951.

1951.

Let that sink in.

*Thanks for the catch.  I'm pretty wiped out.

Republicans now majority across Government.

They are doing the peoples work.
Especially the House under Speaker Ryan. The House is said to be the peoples House and closest to the people.
But in the recent edition of the Republican and conservative dictionary.

People are defined as;
Corporations and or their CEO's.

See, it all makes sense now right?
Trump and Pence meet with Carrier/ CEO. Leave Union President out of the Art of the Deal.

I would like to nominate the Penguin for FBI director, Boris Badonov for CIA director...

Nope. Still not stupid enough.

This is so much worse than my worst fear. The old truism, 'the worse the oppression, the faster the revolution', will be tested in short order. I'm not betting on a good outcome.

Missing "less" in first sentence?

Nothing is smarter than making the primary consumers in a consumer economy poorer!

Can we ask China how not having internal consumer markets to make up for falling demand from western nations descending into austerity and autocratic rule is working out?

How about these rugged individual conservatives that scream at big bad Gov't getting out of the way and making it small enough to drown the Constitution in a bath tub. Vote for Trump promises for all those social goodies?

Trump says, "torture and kill families of Terrorists. Why doesn't that statement include the likes of Dylan Roof and his family?

IF a female has an abortion now, the punishment for that terroristic attack should be what? And the family of that female should be executed as well?

But why?
Why hasn't Trump or the GOP congress called James Comey to investigate (lock up) Hillary for running the pedifile ring in the underground caverns beneath the Pizza joint.???? Why investigate? Just send in the drones to take out the pedafile pissa ring and HRC. I thought these conservatives were decisive and tough on terror.
Hell, a self proclaimed patriot had to grab his own AR-15. Call in sick to work and spend his own money (should he be reimbursed) traveling there. Opens up his investigation with firing shots.
Why didn't Kojack or Columbo ever think of that?
But no peeps out of my Senators or House reps on any of this.

Gee,, how loud and often loud they were with President Obama.

I'll leave this here...Just replace "Nixon" with Trump

"For years I’ve regarded his existence as a monument to all the rancid genes and broken chromosomes that corrupt the possibilities of the American Dream; he was a foul caricature of himself, a man with no soul, no inner convictions, with the integrity of a hyena and the style of a poison toad. The Nixon I remembered was absolutely humorless; I couldn’t imagine him laughing at anything except maybe a paraplegic who wanted to vote Democratic but couldn’t quite reach the lever on the voting machine."

At this point I'm digging through the cobwebs of my philosophy on how "may you live in exciting times" would always be a good thing, whether they be The Awesome or The End. The Yellowstone caldera cooking off would be OK, but a lot less destructive than a meteorite striking me dead on my 100th birthday (it's always about me).

But this shit? I didn't sign up for the whimper; I signed up for the bang. As an old managing editor was wont to say: "Just kill me now, Lord."

File Under "the more things change": "This may be the year when we finally come face to face with ourselves; finally just lay back and say it — that we are really just a nation of 220 million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns, and no qualms at all about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable. The tragedy of all this is that George McGovern, for all his mistakes… understands what a fantastic monument to all the best instincts of the human race this country might have been, if we could have kept it out of the hands of greedy little hustlers like Richard Nixon. McGovern made some stupid mistakes, but in context they seem almost frivolous compared to the things Richard Nixon does every day of his life, on purpose… Jesus! Where will it end? How low do you have to stoop in this country to be President?"

Apparently exactly this far, considering that Trump got in there by making the process so unspeakably odious that 5 million or so of us didn't want to participate.
So, really, that may shake out to be the main question to answer, and as of yet, I'm afraid I don't have a fucking clue.

For anyone that recalls the movie, "Zorro the Gay Blade".

I think I figured out Donald Trump and what he is telling us with his nominees.

I view it as more of an Ubi-est-mea-ocracy myself. But that's too hard to pronounce.

(Deep thanks to the late Mike Royko for capturing the greed of politics with the 'motto' "Ubi est mea").
