@chucktodd @realDonaldTrump "would you hire unattractive people" is now journalism. Trump however was fantastic.— Virginia Coverdale (@gotapoint) August 17, 2015
That about sums it up.
For awhile, the Beltway hoped that "saying crazy things" would trip Trump up because the Beltway lives in their own bouncy house made of hazy memories of Tim Russert farts where Imaginary Republicans are outraged by the crazy, foolish things that come pouring out of the mouths of their candidates and media stars, rather than out here in the real world where Republicans are a mob of squalling idiots who are encouraged and delighted by what Trump says.
Oops.
So now that snickering and "looking with alarm" has failed, Beltway is hanging its hopes on "journalism" as their last, best chance to take down the great white who is picnicking on their beaches and ruining their summer.
Too bad that these days the Beltway's collective journalistic expertise amounts to going down the pond chasin' bluegills and tommycods.

So good luck with that.

If anything derails Trump - other than Trump getting bored with running for president - it won't be anything horrible he says, it's more likely , given his supporters, that a momentary flash of real compassion and understanding that we are all in this life together, would set his followers in to a hate frenzy of betrayal and desert the ship for some other more perfect hate warrior.
That said - I also don't imagine for an instant that once this primary/reality show campaign has finished that the folks current given Trump their support wont dutifully vote for the eventual GOP choice.
As I said in an earlier thread, if I were Trump, I would wear Kevlar, hire extra security, and stay out of light airplanes.
The Bush Crime Family makes Donald Trump look like Fred Rogers.

It's certainly not likely, given Trump himself, that such a glimpse of the First Noble Truth will last more than a moment.

Populist Dimorphism: Trump and Sanders
Kudos to Balloon Juice/Zandar for observing that dog whistle racism is so over. We now have Disaster Area Concert racism. Also, I am not so sure that Trump must eventually fall from grace with the Republican base. Surely not by continuing to behave as he has.
Someone with real hacker skilz needs to investigate what appears to be a vast army of Trump sock-puppets posting and tweeting on every online venue that is critical of Trump.
stickler,
Maybe the Greenwald Horde is picking up some part-time work on the side :-)
