Birthday Fundraiser Day Four: Against Vapidity The Blogs Themselves

Contend in vain.

You cannot budge the needle on anything until you find a means of influencing the influencers.

From The Twitter, here is a partial list:

Sigh.

Told ya: the Both Siderist zombie lie never dies.

And speaking of unholy things which refuse to stay in the ground no matter how hard you wallop 'em with the shovel...

David Gregory Joins Yahoo's Growing Editorial Bench Alongside Katie Couric

David Gregory is getting back in the news game, this time digitally.

The recently ousted “Meet the Press” moderator will join Yahoo's coverage of the midterm elections, the company announced Tuesday.

Gregory will join host Katie Couric and contributors Matt Bai, Mike Allen, and political commentator Grover Norquist for network's coverage on November 4th.
...

Since his departure, he's been at work on a book about his Jewish faith and been on the speaking circuit. He also moderated a panel discussion at an event held by non-partisan political group “No Labels.”
So...he's a blogger now?

Well great; there goes the fucking neighborhood.

Dear god, there was actually a room full of bald white men at Yahoo high-fiving each other at such a great "get".

Doesn't capitalism work anymore? There are people who suck at talking about politics just as hard as Gregory who work for much less.

As if the neighborhood hadn't vanished with Breitbartism.

HBDW.

Love ya!

Both are fine examples of the Machine in action. The first is it's ongoing attempt to divide us even further to dilute the power of the masses and the other is the Machine making use of a tool it still finds useful.

My lord is the Brooks column blitheringly simple-minded. The comments, however, do a pretty good job of beating Mr Brooks about the head for his disingenuous puerility.

Republicans are ill-disposed toward Democrats because Republicans are the product of 50 years of electoral strategy to leverage existential fear into a clan-based hatred of the "other."

Democrats are ill-disposed toward Republicans because to identify as a Republican, you must be either ignorant enough not to recognize what the present Republican party is (i.e., operating with the cognition of a mealworm) or a frightened, self-loathing, hateful person. Darn tootin' I wouldn't let my daughter affiliate with someone who identifies as a Republican.

I was wondering the same thing until I realized I'm having acupuncture done on my eyeballs at whatever time it is. Oh, well. I'm sure either you, Mr. DG or any of the other witty, astute commenters here can fill me in? Thanks!

David Gregory has a job and Matt Taibbi doesn't? Nice. And the "always wise David Brooks"? In a fair world Brooksie would be an adjunct Civics teacher at Franklin County Community College.

Yes!! Political Commentator Grover Norquist. You have got to be fucking kidding me! That's like saying the KKK are your friendly Neighborhood Watch committee.

Who on that list, besides Wolfers, is supposed to be a liberal? I recognize Sunstein's name, and NoLabels of course. But liberals they are not.

There hasn't been a ``bench'' this bad since the '62 Mets.
