Remember when "the Newt" blamed Clinton (and liberalism??) for the incident where the women drowned her two kids and blamed a nonexistent black man?
That was in a time when crime rates across the board were spiraling down to record low levels, and the economy was booming.
There is some poll out today, where 75% of the respondents said that the country is in horrible shape. The highest percentage since the polls inception in the mid 70's.
I have to give the rethugs credit, they have an uncanny knack for being able to convince the vast public that things are apocalypse horrible, and shifting the blame to their opponents, when in fact things are moderately bad, but getting better.
They seem to have zeroed in on the primitive "fight or flight" lizard sector of the brain.
You would think eventually, that button would just...wear out.
Guess not.
