Sorry, god has already cut both Glen and Rush down what with giving them bad asses and all. He snipped them in the butt, or something like that.
It all only serves to show that H.L. Mencken's outlook was exactly on the money.
Last night, I re-watched "A Face In The Crowd". It had been a number of years since I had seen it, and although the "Lonesome Roads" character makes a good modern day caricature of Beckism, the ending was unsatisfying in one glaring aspect. Roads is brought down when his creator, in a fit of conscience, leaves his mike open for all the world to hear the contempt he actually holds for the rubes he controls. It reminded me that Beck's mike is essentially always open. He has made horrible statements publicly that should have brought him low long ago. Becks followers would still apparently worship him if he ate babies in a live broadcast. If only the vast public was as fickle as Hollywood makes them out to be. There is a huge segment of the population that will never turn from their glassy eyed adoration of Beck, Palin, Oreilly or the Fox fiends. I wish the man in black and his Karmic admonitions were true...but it sure seems like the evil don't get their just due sooner, later or at all....
when Beck inevitably starts to eat babies on his television program, he will tearfully and with great conviction explain to his viewers how the Kenyan usurper and his godless progressive are forcing him to eat babies, and that if all the fine, upstanding American patriots watching would just use their common sense and buy more gold and more copies of his latest ghostwritten book, then he could stop the evil communistic nazi devil-worshippers who are forcing him to eat babies and then your taxes would go down and your children would stop talking about putting you in a home.
