The Professional Left Podcast with Driftglass and Blue Gal
Taking the Leap: Risk, Rewards, and the Media Elite
Driftglass and Blue Gal discuss Photoshop for iPhones, and possibly the worst concert summer series ever. Plus, why risk-taking is easy for those who can afford to go to Davos and impossible for the rest of us, and what we have to be grateful for in spite of the fact that WaPo never returns our calls.

I listen most weeks to your podcast and was prepared to give you a good review and high rating on itunes (I may anyway). However, I found your comments concerning Andrew Sullivan distasteful - especially the codpiece crack. I think if you would spend time researching his life, you might find much to admire - yes, luck has been a part of his success story, but so has a lot of hard work and being in the right place (by working hard)
Driftglass I counted four times that you said you did not begrudge Sully either his success or his salary.
That he is a codpiece for the GOP to cover up their homophobia is not his doing or his fault. That he perpetuates the conservative delusion and continues to swoon over the golden days of Ronald Reagan and Maggie Thatcher with no apology for the groundwork they laid in preparation for the Bush/Cheney debacle...is entirely his fault.
Sullivan richly deserves your criticism. No one faults him for his luck or hard work, it's his judgment that's at issue.
One of your best, DG. Thanks for working through the flu.
if i remember correctly sullivan was for bush before he was against him
anyone who could ever be for bush deserves all the criticism lobbed at them
