Of course, the ideal ticket would be President Santos girded by Rockefeller Republican Veep Arnold Vinick.
Hmmm. The top two vote-getters, taking the top two Constitutional offices?
Should make the Originalists very happy.
But, of course, such Republicans no longer exist.
Which is why we call the West Wing “fabulous”.

That was probably workable at the beginning of the Republic, but today the Republicans would just have any Democrat who won killed.
