Good Ol' Anton Karidian

If you've ever caught Rick Wilson's "Trump is a poopy poop-head" act in print or on the teevee machine --

-- you might never know that up until about about five minutes ago Rick made a very fine living as one of those parasites who gorged themselves on the GOP's innards, exploiting their rage and racism for electoral and financial gain.

This is because, although'"Gorging Republican Parasite" is pretty much his entire resume, Rick's many friends in the Liberal media have collectively agreed to either never mention it at all, or to breeze quickly past it on their way to giving him the microphone so he can promote his book and call Donald Trump a poopy poop-head.  After which everyone nods approvingly and the audience is left knowing only that Rick is a guy who says things that please them.

He's just good ol' Anton Karidian.

Just as the GOP was a normal, reasonable political party right up until they were mesmerized and hijacked by Donald Trump in 2016.

Just as the Republican base flung themselves into the ample man-boobs of Donald Trump because of economic anxiety.

Except, of course, none of this is true.  What's more, everyone involved in helping to spread these fairy tales knows that none of this is true.

And every time I bring this up with Liberal Central Command I get the same answer.

So what?

So what if it's bullshit and we all know it's bullshit?  Where's the harm?  After all, we need ALL HANDS ON DECK so why not squint real hard and all agree to overlook the GOP's incredibly inconvenient Past on the way to a brighter Future?  Why not pretend that life-long Republican button-men who made their fortunes gleefully stomping on everything we value are now our allies?  It's just for the time being, you understand.  After all this is A TEMPORARY EMERGENCY, and once we win we'll cut 'em loose and clean everything up.

But for now, what's the harm in pretending that "normal" is a place we just left a couple of years ago?  That it's still over the horizon and we can all get back there if we all clap real hard?

Over to you Leonard Pitts:
At this point, returning to ‘normal’ isn’t good enough. We need a president to make us better

...A Biden victory would be an opportunity squandered, a chance for systemic change traded for an implicit promise to take America back to “normal.” That’s what Biden is selling, after all. He keeps touting his ability to work with Republicans, appealing for civility, reaching out to GOP voters. “Some of you voted for Donald Trump,” he said at a recent event in Iowa. “My party stopped talking to you.”

Really, Joe?

The fact is, people voted for Trump, not because they felt neglected, but because for many, he reflected their prejudices. That’s according to empirical evidence. So what Biden intends as a plea for political amity is actually an act of political cowardice.

See, we left normal a long time ago, and it wasn’t because Democrats were mean. We left it because Republicans made a conscious and calculated decision to absent themselves from the responsibilities of citizenship and governance. They broke this country, one tea party rally, one birther lie, one government shutdown, one voter suppression law, one stolen Supreme Court seat at a time.

And the idea that Democrats should make it their priority to get us back to “normal” is worse than naive because it rewards and absolves the GOP for years of party-first obstructionism. “Normal” is what got us here. So rather than beg them to hold hands with the rest of us as we try to get back to where we were, let’s map a path to someplace new and challenge them to keep up...
The reason I know that clapping and squinting and pretending that Republicans are not exactly who we have all known them to be for decades will lead to disaster is because clapping and squinting and pretending that Republicans are not exactly who we have all known them to be for decades has already led to disaster.

And that disaster's name is Donald Trump.

Behold, a Tip Jar!

Totally agree. I turn down the sound every time one of these until trump republicans comes on the idiot box to pontificate about how horrible it is what trump has done to the old conservative values of the past. And if I hear one fucking Democrat say anything about how we should just forgive and forget and just move forward just like back in the Nixon days instead of sending these people to prison or the Hague for crimes against humanity, well fuck it, just turn out the lights the fucking party is fucking over. What's left of the Democratic party is all that is left and if it can't tell when justice should be applied to these crimes against this Democratic republic and nature then again, just fuck it. I just hope there is enough left of the earth when we are finally extinct as a species for the rest of the life left on this planet to keep going on just like it was before our so call big hair brained species arrived on the scene with our so called big ideas of how to tame nature and everything would be so super duper wonderful for all. There is just enough left to keep up some of the mere façade of things are just fine, but when the president of brazil thinks the burning of the rainforest is just fine and dandy, well it puts a whole new meaning on the phrase "we are fucked six ways from Sunday".

Rick should watch the documentary series, "Back to the Future".

Talk with Doc and Michael J Fox about returning to normal.

Anyone who swathes these documentary Shall see that a simple sports statistics magazine
pit in the hands of a failed casino owner in the past. Can have devastating results in the future.

My mother (and Terence McKenna) always admonished me to consider the source. I reflect that you do that, against a fatuous and ill-serving grain, as a matter of dutiful course. That would be just one reason why I delight in sending you and BG money every month! ...And thank you!
