Matthew Dowd Does Not Understand How Prostitution Works

Creepy old men have been paying women to dress up in costumes and tell them the lies they want to hear since the beginning of time.

It is the world's second oldest profession.

It is also the Fox News business model.

It is also hilarious that ABC News' chief political analyst does not understand any of this.

Behold, a Tip Jar!

My only quibble with this is that prostitution is a far nobler profession than whatever Dana Lush does to collect her pieces of silver. But until we discover that someone is handsomely paying tapeworms to ply their trade it's the best comparison we've got.

"I just don't get how a woman could say this after all that has been revealed about conduct of men in power."

File that among the large and growing pile of things you just don't get.

I read this on slacktivist blog today:

The presumption of good faith has thus been weaponized and turned against itself.

I think it's more sinister than that. Prostitution implies a certain amount of choice involved on the hooker's part. She's more than likely reading those lines because the men who employ her have her cornered and have either overtly stated or (more likely) simply implied that if she wants to keep her job, she'll do what they tell her to do.
