When you say that Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly and others probably don't believe their own bullshit, I have to agree, sort of.
There are those who I definitely believe are mostly putting on an act, though they probably are very COnservative in "real life" and only exaggerate for effect.--Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity come to mind. There are some, of course, who seem to honestly believe their own bullshit--though none come to mind at the moment
But there are others who I believe don't care one bit about Conservative ideology, and who could have just as easily become Liberals had they thought they could hustle and flimflam a liberal audience. Beck and Andrew Brietbart (especially Breitbart) come to mind. They seem to be to be in it exclusivelyfor the money, and could have just as easily been Liberals had they thought that it would enrich them.

Glenn Beck is either a very cynical manipulator of very stupid people or, in the famous words of Bill Maher, "close to playing with his poop".
Watching Newt rise to the top in this "worlds tallest midget" contest, I wonder, as I have in past elections, why the DNC or some other similar organization is not running some continually looping ad of his "greatest hits"? Are they waiting until he actually Hitlers his way in to the nomination? Are they worried that there will be too many orcs that really like his Dickinsonian vision of a new america? I have to admit, I think he would be the best choice from this side. Maybe I just answered my own question...
