I Remember Monica

Fox Family

Just when FoxPAC and the GOP had convinced the media to collectively forget that the Party of Personal responsibility was tapping the Fascist Asshole Keg long before they elected George Bush as their Dear Leader, Rand Paul had to open his Galt Gulch and start yapping about that-which-must-not-be-spoken-of...

Rand Paul Goes There: Lewinksy Jokes Abound As Clinton Stumps For Dem In KY-SEN

Evan McMorris-Santoro | October 12, 2010

When President Bill Clinton stumped for Kentucky's Democratic nominee for Senate, Jack Conway, he was met with a barrage of jokes about his past from Conway's Republican opponent, Rand Paul. Clinton tried to raise fears about foreign donor money with the voters he spoke to in Kentucky; Paul responded by reminding everyone that Clinton once had oral sex performed on him in the Oval Office.

It was not rhetoric in the style of the Lincoln-Douglass debates. But it was fairly entertaining.

"I'm not sure I would trust a guy who had had sexual relations with an intern. I mean, do you think he's an honorable person?" Paul told supporters at a campaign stop on Monday, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.
...

I have always felt that, far from being a source of shame from which Dems need to hide, the Clinton Impeachment could have been the most wonderful Everlasting-Gobstopper of a gift the GOP ever gave to the Democratic Party:

...
The impeachment of Bill Clinton is something of a hobby-horse with me. Since the day the Republican coupe d'etat came up short, I have always believed that it was the greatest gift the GOP could ever have given the Democrats. They piled up such sky-skimming mountains of fierce rhetoric about Truth and Lies and Justice and why the attempt to depose Clinton wasn’t partisan; it was nothing more than the impartial wheels of Constitutional Justice grinding out the fate of the President with an even-hand.

This is where body-language really counted. Mods seem as genuinely freaked by the fact that Dems haven’t forgotten about the Seven Year War against Bill Clinton, as they are by the fact that every single thing their President PROMISED them as a condition for mindless backing Operation Endless Clusterfuck has turned out to be a lie. And for exactly the same reason:

To stick to the rhetoric of Impeachment, Moderates now have to explain their own, deafening lack of interest in the lies and treasons of the Bush White House.

To dump the rhetoric of Impeachment, Moderates would have to concede that Liberals were right (yet again!); that Impeachment was nothing but a coup staged by the Radical Republican Party for nothing more than grubby, partisan gain.

It sure seems a whole lot like those who want to wave the American Swastika as a source of “pride”, and then rewrite history to efface the terrorism conducted under that banner. Then dictate to those who were fucked over by those terrorists that they have no business being offended by the flying of the lynching flag.

That Jim Crow didn’t count. That everyone else should just get over it so that they can warm themselves at the hearth of their liars history and traitors cause.

Sorry pal. Ain’t gonna happen. Your President is a liar, and over matters of life and death and war and peace. And you’re a hypocrite if you’re not going after him with at least the same fervor you devoted to hunting down Clinton for blowjobs.

And every time you say different, expect us to beat your teeth down your throat with your own damning words.

Like a series of unguarded Iraqi ammo dumps stretching out to the horizon, it has always seemed to me that Dems were missing a huge opportunity to blow the Party of Personal Responsibility right off its pilings by simply picking up and using any of the millions of filthy, reckless words the GOP has left in its wake during its long plunge into Crazyville.

Why the Democratic Party repeatedly refuses to use the tools the GOP repeatedly hands them -- gift-wrapped -- has always mystified and infuriated me.

It still does.

Dims have been told they can only fight back so hard and that's what they do. If not they get the "or else" card played on them.

it would be uncivil, drifty. It would make the TV people tut-tut at the Dems.

That would be so, so hurtful. Better to just go down to ignominious defeat, kick a few hippies on the way, and sell out the futures of 95% of Americans, who are less important than Village Party Hosts.

After all, none of the people THEY know will be losing their homes or jobs, or lives....

Nice p-shoop on Michelle Malkin, btw.

Could it be because most of the Dims want to grow up to be wealthy Rethugs?

Because if not, why are they working so hard at it?

You the MAN, Dg!

Could it be that the Dems are merely a different sect of the "Incumbent Protection Racket" - as opposed to truly representing ideals and constituents?

At least that is my working hypothesis. How else to explain the utter lack of Democratic Party money in so many races where they could compete if they wanted to? Or the slavish support of turncoat Blue-Dogs who stab the Party's top priorities in the back time after time?

Simply put, our Imperial Congress, not unlike its superior cousin down the avenue, loves its perks, its ways and itself much, much, much more than it loves doing The People's business. And until The People get involved, nothing will change.

And so long as Dancing With the Stars, Survivor and Monday Night Football rule to boob tube, I doubt The People will ever be moved enough to care about their own governance.

Sigh.

If only your assembled cast were only kooky in the Addams Family way.
Instead, they're untethered and only funny in that oh so sad, how batshit crazy and dangerous way.

But Britt Hume as Lurch is positively inspired choppin'.

I always figured part of the Rethig party was secretly envious of Clinton's blowjobs since they never get any unless they pay for them, and the other, more closeted rethugs were secretly repelled because a woman was the giver.

Babs Garity-Blake, running for State legislature office down on the NC coast and a fine life-long Democrat, is tossing term-limits and no-new-taxes back in the rethug incumbent's face. It'll be interesting to see if it works.

Republicans are proud of hypocrisy (see Rove, Karl and Canary, Leura) -- to them it's a core competence, a way of life -- so all political attacks that are based on pointing out Republican hypocrisy fall flat.
