The President apparently finally, finally, finally got tired of that not-so-fresh-feeling of pulling back a bloody stump every single time he tried to make nice with the rabid crapweasels of the GOP and had someone go 'round back of the White House and cut him a switch.

Good.

If only holding stupidly contradictory opinions were just a rightwing habit. I learn on Dailykos that Obama is both a naive fool and a brilliantly disguised neocon. I learn that any suggestion that some strategy more complex than line-in-the-sand losing is at play is "11 dimensional chess", yet there Obama plans to use Dick Durbin to disguise his attacks on Social Security.

rootless_e,
"naive fool and a brilliantly disguised neocon" are indeed matters of wildly divergent opinion which can be read into Obama's behavior depending on your mood.

That he is a Kenyan Muslim is not a matter of opinion.

That Bill Clinton did not murder Vince Foster is not a matter of opinion.

Outright lies told on Fox every fucking day without anyone paying a price for them are not matters of opinion.

I can imagine -hope- that Obama stacked his Social Security group with insane wingtards in order to demonstrate to Americans how, how utterly vicious and crazy these conservatives really are. That would be very clever, it could be very effective too.

But it looks as tho he's really going to allow these black-hearted evil men to destroy the most useful and popular Government Program EVER, for no reason other than They Hate It.

Not living in AZ, I am really curious about something. Does the dem challenger for gov. have no resources whatsoever? I would think that a simple teevee ad, with a snippet of the debate performance and the caption: "Brewer for Governor: Really?" would have some effect in the polling.
The whole thing certainly validates yours and Stewart's point about facts being useless artifacts in Orc world, but...really? She didn't just have some kind of breakdown, she couldn't have come off any worse if she had jumped up on the table and exposed herself..which she kind of did in a way.
To those who think that Palin would not be able to get the party nomination, much less get anywhere near the White House: just look at what this women is doing in AZ. If she can still win after that, even if AZ is a particularly rabid brand of stupid, then anything is possible.

Bravo for not being glurped into the Thumb-Toy Vortex.

I have a cellphone, aka my watch that makes phone-calls, complete with scuzzy-rez camera. Handy when responding to alarms at work, but otherwise just bulky.

I have a difficult time believing that Barack Obama ever had any real groove. Sorry. :-\
