The Summer of Baucus wasn't the best tactic, either.

Time to put up or shut up, Barack...

May as well get used to it cuz there's more coming down the pipe - count on it!

In any SANE country the GOP would be on its deathbed after 8 years of Bush-ReThug FAILURE.

This started with the clearly inadequate stimulus bill and has gone downhill since.

"...But the main thing I take away from MA is that if a relatively safe Dem state can go to a guy like Brown, the entire country can go to a gal like Palin. At that point, the game would be over."

yeah, keep telling yourself it can't happen

Yer not foolin' me, that's been photoshopped. I kin tell 'cause Rahm doesn't have a complete middle finger on his right hand. Seems he wore it to the nub flipping off progressives.

Other than that, the photo looks entirely real.

Kumbaya, Bay-bee. Kumbaya up the ass.

After reading myself to blindness on progressive blogs and commentary today -- Bay State Wake Up Call!! -- and then hearing from The Perpetually Ball-less about how this means we're "asking for too much too soon on health reform" -- I do believe this uber-Liberal Progressive Old Lady has hit the wall.

Put your asses out there and SHOW US THE MONEY, invertebrate Obama, Rahm-ster, Sniveller Pelosi, Weak-Kneed Reid. And all the bastages who said We Progressives are the Problem.

Fark that noise. If these Fake Democrat Worms REFUSE to load in Medicare Buy-In PLUS a strong universal public option plan into Health Reform PLUS shit-canning Stupid Stupak PLUS regulate it NATIONALLY thru a centralized exchange . . . and if they then don't ram it up Congressional asses with a Reconciliation Vote --

If these weakling asswipes can not even manage that after the Bay State Bell-Ringer, then it's Pitchfork Time, kiddies.

I didn't understand in 1972 when Lefties said "Re-elect Tricky Dickie Nixton so the Revolution will come quicker." ?? Hell, I was living in Massachusetts at the time . . . the ONLY state that voted against Dick and for Democrat What'sHisName. Now, I understand. If Obama, Rahm, Pelosi and Reid don't get their sh!t together PRONTO, I'm writing in dead Strom Thurmond for senator, house rep and prez.

Now, where's that Rent-A-Guillotine business card???

Ayup.

Conventional wisdom sez Move Center or even Move Right Barack.

CW is wrong. The peoples are MAD and they WANT their government to HELP THEM. Not thieving bankers and market manipulators. Not huckster mortgage-note holders and terrorized Iraqis/Afghans. Not automaker bosses or lobbyists.

No. The PEOPLE want their government to HELP THEM. Help their towns, cities and suburbs. Help them keep their jobs or get new ones.

And the Green Zone on the Potomac? And the assorted aristocrats of politics, party media and bureaucracy? Even more remote than Versailles in 1788.

Action is needed. Real action. Will we see it? I guess time will tell because no matter how many times DFHs raise the yell, they are not heard.

Drift:

No. Screaming. Shit.

American voters do not like weak presidents. You can be as dumb as a brick, which Bush was, and you can be as wrong as two left feet; which Bush was; but you'd better look forceful when you're doing it. And Bush was that, too, especially if you had a room-temperature I.Q.

Memo to the Prez: it's awfully hard to look forceful when you've got your lips surgically implanted on the asses of the people who've nearly ruined the country.

The good news is, that it's just one seat.

If, two years ago, God had informed the democrats that in 24 months we would have the White House and an 18 seat majority in the Senate (I refuse to count lieberman...) and an equivalent margin in the House, we would have been fornicating in the streets like happy alley cats.
We still have a hell of a hammer, but if the conclusion that O. and the dems draw from Massachusetts is to move to the right, then 10 months from now what happened last night is going to look like a lawn party. We will be obliterated.

Sir, you KNOW what is right. You spoke it in your excellent campaign.

We want you to man up...not back up. Wipe the barbecue sauce off your chin, put on your work clothes and join us in the trenches. It's the only chance you have left to convince the voters that we were right to hire you.

The only hope for the Dems is economic populism, take the gloves off when dealing with the Wall Street banksters.

Incredibly enough it is the teabaggers who are the populists. Though like typical peasants their masters are manipulating them. No, no, Wall Street is not the enemy, ACORN is.

I have a fried from England, a good Liberal. He said today:

"If this were England, heads would be rolling down the streets in front of parliament like soccer balls."

I say: Yea and verily; someone needs to go under the bus. Now who should that be?

(tb grins a bitter grin...like a possum eating shit out of a hairbrush...:o) )

tanbark said...

Friend, dammit...

Well, sometimes he gets fried...but he's a good guy. :o)

tanbark said...

GayVet; spot on. That the people who helped Wall St. and the bankers assrape americans for 8 years, can now put on the "populist" robe, speaks volumes about what a vacuum Barak Obama has created, for them to fill.

I've been yowling for months about the fact that Obama was practically doing rehab on the assholes, and last night, they thanked him for it.

Rahm needs to get reamed............. pronto.

What kind of guy serves in the Israeli armed forces, rather than those of his supposed home country?

That's now up on Hullaballoo and FDL, as we speak...and laugh. :o)

As always, DG, you nailed it. You don't even want to know what it's like inside this mess. A year ago, I suffered through the worst-planned inauguration I've ever been to - and I've been to every one for about 30 years - and the incompetence since then has been consistent. My only hope is that, like Clinton, Obama's having a bad first year and will clean house to get things back on track. I'm not holding my breath, however. - mac

'Tis a puzzlement, eh? LOLOLOLOL

They NEVER had 60 to begin with in reality. On paper sure but they never flipped it into a sale.

Sybil Liberman is fucking insane. Obama said "I get it" today and I'm still like screaming at the TV well stop holding hands and skpping rope with this fuckers! They need to put some STRONG legislation out there and LET THE FUCKING REPUBLICANS spontaneously combust!

The people who voted for Obama AND voted for Brown, overwhelminly did so because of his pandering to the fucking RIGHT. It's a NO FUCKING BRAINER! So I hope he shows us his stuff because this has become as painful as bush.

Fucking LEAD MAN!!! Shit.

Myrtle June said...

Oh AND we neeeeeeed Howard Dean back in charge of the DNC.

Distributorcap said...

my fear is that people like lieberman, bayh and rahm will win out - more move to the right

and scott brown - after november he is going to look like Abby Hoffman compared to what will be in congress.

watch the three week scramble to make it right and then back to BAU.

he could score quite a few points by just signing away DADT - what are the odds of that - same as Coakley winning today.

John D. said...

That's not barbecue sauce on Obama's chin, Tanbark.

It's Lieberman's jism.

tanbark said...

John, I'm afraid you're right.

When, after Lieberman endorsed McCain and campaigned for him, the democrats didn't kick the asshole out of his committee assignment, it was the harbinger of some really shitty "things to come".

As crooked as Rahm is, you'd think that he would have recognized a fellow shitbird and would have been whispering in Obama's ear:

"DO his ass, before he does us."

Now, Lieberman is Captain Queeg in "The Caine Mutiny", only, he's clacking Obama's 'nads together, instead of steel balls.

Our bipartisan preznint needs to take them back.

tanbark said...

BTW:

WHAT PROGRESSIVE OLD LADY said.

Big time.

Myrtle June said...

?

On the bright side.... there is NO longer need to keep Lieberman in the caucus. He doesn't make 60 and therefore useless. Obama needs to get merciless and get whatever he can shove through reconciliation bills for everything with 51. Works for me. Brown also takes the wind out of liebermans sails so there's that....

John D. said...

Myrtle June, do you really expect the worthless, gutless pieces of shit to actually boot Holy Joe now that they no longer "need" him?

tanbark said...

John, I don't know if they've got the spittle to shitcan ShortRide, but, it would be a GREAT declaration of war on these fuckers.

Myrtle June said...

Yes. I. DO.

Serving Patriot said...

Dumping Holy Joe would be a GREAT START. And then you put Mary, Ben and the rest of those so-called Democrats into a room and tell them you got one chance or you'll end up like Joe.

But, that would actually be leading and helping the PEOPLE. I suspect today's "populist tent revival show" was just that -- a show.

Actions speak louder. Actions!
