Sunday Morning Comin’ Down

The Discredited Conservative Rehabilitation Tour continues…

Over on “Meet the Press”, “Larry Summers” talks “economics” with “David Gregory”

While on “This Wee Little George Stephanopolous”, catastrophically Failed Neocon Mentat Alan Greenspan

repeats the Capitalist Mantra
It is by Rand alone I set my mind in motion.
It is by the juice of Sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains.
The stains become a warning.
It is by Rand alone I set my mind in motion.

over and over again.

But the only item of any larger cultural interest yesterday was the Shark Jumping Moment when ABC News' Chief Washington Correspondent George Stephanopolous held up Michele Malkin’s latest, odious book, gave it one contractually-obligated mention between lightly-gritted teeth, and then lent her credibility the full faith and credit of ABC News as he introduced her as a member-in-good-standing of his Sunday morning panel.

Malkin, for those of you who are unfamiliar with her oeuvre, is the perky, snarling brownshirt with the glossy tresses and bantamweight intellect after whom ex-pat Conservative Andrew Sullivan named "The Malkin Award" for "shrill, hyperbolic, divisive and intemperate right-wing rhetoric."

Whose entire “literary” career has consisted of collecting large, wingnut welfare checks from infamous Conservative whorehouse Regnery Press in exchange for cranking out one "Liberals Are Scum" cut-and-paste honey-bucket every 18 months or so:
Invasion: How America Still Welcomes Terrorists, Criminals, and Other Foreign Menaces to Our Shores (Regnery 2002)

In Defense of Internment: The Case for ‘Racial Profiling’ in World War II and the War on Terror (Regnery 2004)

Unhinged: Exposing Liberals Gone Wild (Regnery 2005)

So this wasn’t a case of some feral child dropping uninvited through the skylight onto the grownup's table. This was a multiple-car-wreck-grade violation of any pretext of “journalism” that screamed, “Wrong!”

loud and clear and showed that “The Week...” has become just one more hard-pimpin’ stop on the Right Wing bookselling haj.

Or maybe it was just that Liz Cheney’s dance card was full.

In her few moments on camera, Malkin did an abbreviated version of her funny, little wingnut dance --"smart" people (in this case, economists) are not to be trusted…Obamacare is just like Hillarycare…”they” want to “redistribute health”…the gen-u-ine grassrootsieness of the FoxNews-sponsored "teabag movement" -- to the bemused shrugs of her betters.

She did, however, manage to get a rise out of Actual Journalist Cynthia Tucker for stating categorically that the unemployed were basically lazy (presumably Liberal) losers who don’t want to work and who will stay on the Gummint dole as long as their unemployment benefits keep getting extended.

Tucker: When you have 6,000 people standing in line for 30 jobs, that's fucking absurd.

Then again, if unemployed America could just find a way to make a living doing what Malkin does, you’d see the country go from virtual Depression to full employment overnight.

Because as George Stephanopolous demonstrated at the Mouse Circus this Sunday, in the “lobbing gobbets of rancid red meat to the crazies, and then cutting and pasting troll-poo into another Regnery Press Publishing Triumph” economy, there is never a recession.

Let's see; wing nuts and those who failed in their last election bid are all over the damned TeeBee constantly (see: MalKKKin, McInsane, Mooselini, Spawn of Darth, Darth himself, etc). I do not recall the same when Gore "lost", Kerry lost, etc.

I also do not see how someone of MalKKKin's tenor was opposed in any way by a liberal of similar heat-n-light in this program, but then I suddenly realized that the liberal camp doesn't include MalKKInesque characters. Funny, that.

We could have full employment if, like the malkiesque, we all prostituted ourselves for right wing money. Joe (not his real name) the plummer (not his trade) figured this out.

Did we watch the same show?

I thought the other folks, and Georgie, pretty much handed Malkin her butt and politely belittled her childish talking points rhetoric as ignorant and stupid.

She was shamed by the rest of them. Overtly. Shunned. Dunned.

Likely never to appear again. On The Mouse Circus. Till her next book.

That's the show I saw . . .
