The worst fears of short-bus riding, white trailer trash rednecks is just that- their worst fears. President Elect Obama is going to do something to them that is far, far worse than their deepest fears- he'll make their lives measurably better. The fallout from that cognitive dissonance will be a sight to behold.

I don't think there will be any fallout, US. They don't have any cognitive to fall out to. That's why they can preach abstinence and have unwed teens in the highest numbers in the country and still vote against "welfare queens" who, lets face it, actually live on their street.
It's always somebody else who is the enemy in West Virginia.
Reminds me of that old Firesign Theatre bit of alternate Civil War history, from Everything You Know Is Wrong.
As Uncle Field Marshal Thomas Lagree Quadroon put it:

Almost as funny as those Obama Dollars floating around the internet with Ribs and Chicken and Kool-Aid and Watermelon printed on them. Remember when the white golfer said they'd have to put fried chicken on the country Club menu for Tiger Woods. Same difference.
