In a Democracy

the cure for a dimwit, sociopath king

is not

a hip, smart king

who pledges to snake our overflowing toilets after he assumes the throne.

In a Democracy, we cannot allow there to be a throne in the first place.

In a Democracy, the cure for Chronic Irritable Monarchism Syndrome was, is, and always will be

this.

Methinks it was the flushing of this particular brand of toilet paper that
caused the commode to back up in the first place!

Yup.

Today was hard.

None of the people BHO thinks are gonna vote for him b/c he signed off on this thing were ever gonna vote for him.

Dear Senator Obama:

July is an awful time to piss off your base. It is NOT the general election yet, Senator. No one EXCEPT the base is paying attention or will be until at least the convention.

Ya blew it, buster. Rant off.

blue gal,

Hi. I don't see how BHO can play politics with this particular issue seeing as the guy was a damned con law professor.

I need a cocktail.

obama just cast his iraq war authorization vote. (and doesn't it also call into question his whole "i was against iraq before it was cool" stance? really? you said all the right things about fisa too, you freaking TWIT.)

it won't mean dick to the repugs and the center. but he has now told the progs who helped get him here that they might as well stay home on election day.

I can't abide that a few of HRC's advisors are onboard with BHO. I just can't.

They are fucking with what shoulda been a clean sweep, an easy win, and a CLEANSING in the house and senate at the same time.

History, it slips from our grasp, like quicksilver run free. Again.

Fuck.

It CAN'T be this bad, again, can it?

Harumph.

Yes, of course, it is Hillary's fault (since her husband, and now apparently she, too, are responsible for all that is wrong in the world forever). HE hired them. They weren't forced on him. Supposedly he has some actual smarts (though he seems to be hiding that particular light under a rock right now) that would allow him to determine, oh, well, right from wrong, smart from crashingly stupid, CONSTITUTIONAL or UNCONSTITUTIONAL??? Isn't that the job he is applying for?

Or are you saying he is simply a puppet for his advisors? Unable to make a good decision? All things that, God knows, I am looking for in a President.

I'm beginning to wonder if maybe a benevolent ruler is the best we can hope for. I'm beginning to wonder if maybe democracy is just a sham to keep the mob down - let em vote for stuff, then they can imagine that they had their say, lost this battle, but will win the next one.

Obama isn't so hip- he doesn't listen to Tegan and Sara, and I've heard he doesn't even LIKE cutting himself that much.

moonglum, how can we rely on courts when King George is doing whatever he wants?!?!?!?

the Angel of Change (Obama) swore an oath to preserve, protect and DEFEND the Constitution

the FISA abominatino was a deal-breaker for me, I will not vote for Obama (he'll carry Maryland)
