Kapo Joe Strikes Again.

Cheer up you Gloomy Gideons, and turn those frowns upside-down!

Tonight Pastor John will be here to tell us about how were all helping Sweet Baby Jebus create the State of Israel!

Won’t that be fun!

And then tomorrow, if we’re very, very good, I hear we’re each gonna get a crust of bread with our nettle soup!

From the Huffington Post:
Joseph Lieberman To Headline Upcoming Pastor Hagee Summit

Senator Joseph Lieberman is scheduled to headline Pastor John Hagee's 2008 Christians United For Israel Washington-Israel Summit this July 22. In accepting Hagee's invitation, Lieberman became the most senior elected representative confirmed to appear at the annual gala. Last year, when Lieberman spoke at Hagee's summit, he compared the Texas televangelist to the biblical prophet Moses, dubbing him "an Ish Elochim," or "a man of God." Unless he rescinds his pledge to appear at this year's summit, Lieberman can be expected to deliver another soul-stirring tribute.

Hagee's vitriolic condemnation of Catholicism, his jeremiad declaring Hurricane Katrina divine punishment for New Orleans' hosting of a "homosexual rally," and his generally disturbing apocalyptic theology became national news last February when John McCain accepted his endorsement in a widely publicized ceremony.

While initially resisting pressure to reject Hagee's endorsement, McCain finally ended his relationship with Hagee when a sermon by the preacher describing the Holocaust as the will of God registered on the mainstream media's radar.
You’d think that the sort of shithouse-rat-crazy freak who preaches that Israel exists to be used as Rapture kindling so that one day monsters like Hagee can dance into Heaven across a bridge made from the God-smote corpses of Jewish children would be the sort of man that Joe Lieberman would maybe want to take one giant step away from.

But I guess Joe is just one of those hardcore loyal-friend types who’ll help you move, bury your dead hookers, look the other way as you praise Hitler and the Holocaust, and otherwise stand by you no matter what.

Which is so weird, because I remember this other Joe Lieberman from waaaay back in 1998.

This other Joe Lieberman was the sort of oily, back-stabbing, sanctimonious prick who had absolutely no problem, say, throwing fellow Democrat Bill Clinton under the bus

for getting his knob polished and then lying about it.

I wonder what ever happened to that Joe Lieberman?

Oh, and before I forget: Thanks Again Connecticut!

In the meantime the Repugs are complaining because Obama mixed up Auschwitz and Buchenwald in his statement.

And thank you, Dg, for reminding us of the Democratic ideals that Lieberman (Is that a German name or Jewish name? I forget.)wholeheartedly embraces.

Drifty, you are why they invented Photoshop. That's the creepiest image I ever saw.

I agree, that image was ...unpleasant.

I have received two action emails - one from J Street and the other from Democracy for America, and both I responded that I can't sign the petition because I WANT Lieberman to participate in this thing with Hagee. I want, once and for all, for the folks in my home state (and my beloved sister is one of them) that voted for Lieberman in 2006 to know, unequivocally that they made a tremendous error and won't do it again. May this be his last term as the U.S. Senator from Connecticut.

Thank YOU, BarbinAtl,

That's exactly what I think everyone should do.

I know I've already emailed this to everyone I know in CT.

well, it's been many a month since i visited the house of drift. good to read that some blogs don't change. you are still the ever insive d r i f t g l a s s.
thank you for remaining true.
i was just about to write the a lament for the blogs, but maybe it's just certain blogs. vehicles for stardom, they have become. every crass opportunist "collaborating" with the biggies.
guess i'll continue to do the rounds.
i remember the days when i first parachuted into the sphere. like radio, i had no visuals. only what i imagined the blogger to be like. then i met a bunch and have followed the evolution. why does everyone get so celebrity driven?
carry on, my friend. good to know you're ever constant.
merci beaucoup.

Hey,Drifty, some of us worked hard against Joementum...but thenm youd've hd to have been here to believe what went down...it wasnt just the dems who trusted him and were scared of Lamonte, it was the republicans voting him in...and the dems working for him and against Lamonte...
Lamonte supporters were the majority of dem voters, but republicans voted for Joe, and then the percentage of dems...well...
it was a very dirty and horrible campaign. Joe hired black kids from the inner city for 60 bucks pr day to wear t-shirts and give out literature...and to make alot of trouble at lamonte events...and to plaster signs everywhere illegally.
anyway, it wasn't the liberal CT voter's faults.
It does serve as a horrible cautionary tale, doesnt it?

Thank you, Melina!

Just needed to hear it first hand. I KNOW THIS IS TRUE TODAY EVERYWHERE!
