The 27% Problem.

Half Ehrlichman. Half Rove.

Part One of Three.

Left in complete darkness we will infer patterns and causalities. Left there a little longer, we will invent Gods and angels and a retinue of ritual that must be performed to keep our deities happy.

Left longer still and we’ll start killing each other over the imaginary differences among our make-believe Olympians.

Now none of that is a particularly new or revolutionary observation, but instead a reminder that, in the absence of explanation, people will invent reasons. When those reasons are untestable, we call it faith; when those reasons always reliably follow the channels cut by our prejudices or ignorance, we call it bigotry; when the reasons can be tested, confirmed, retested and reconfirmed, we call it science.

Reasons can run the gamut from “She’s just not that into you” to “Oh, I see; he’s a moron” to “Because light travels at 300,000 kps everywhere”, but they are always there.

They may not be to our liking – a failing heart valve, adultery, alcoholism and bribery, for example, have each been the reason for some of the more unhappy (or at least disquieting) events in my life – but reasons are always there. And from crossword puzzles solutions to some tangly international policy, as maddening or hard to face as the ultimate answer may be, I personally get a beat of satisfaction – almost a physical sense of “ahhhh” deep in my chest -- when the answer finally falls into place.

The darkness does not care either way.

Now consider a few plugs of journalistic chaw plucked out of the Pundit ether (emphasis added):

First, from The Chris Matthews Show

Ms. KAY: The other problem for Republicans is, you start criticizing the president too strongly and it can be counterproductive. Because so many people in the country still have--the majority have a reverence for the office of the president, and where as much they don't like...

GREGORY: And 75 percent of conservatives still back him.

Ms. KAY: Still support President Bush.

Ms. TUCKER: Well, yes.

Mr. STENGEL: Are you--as long as you don't criticize the office and you criticize the execution, that's fine.

Ms. KAY: Yeah. It's a fine line to walk, because if you start criticizing Bush too much, you will be seen by some Republicans as criticizing the president.

Mr. STENGEL: There are people defending the presidency. There's almost no one defending Bush.

Ms. TUCKER: Just this week, the Republican governor of Georgia was on the radio saying, `You ought to shut up about the war.' He is part of that base. The Republican presidential candidates' problem is not just the war, their biggest problem is their base. Their base still overwhelmingly supports the war, doesn't want to hear much criticism of the president. And they are--and Rudy Giuliani's problem, of course, is that they're strictly anti-abortion.

MATTHEWS: Yeah.

Ms. TUCKER: And they're a group of people who are impervious to the facts, just like George Bush is.
Ms. Tucker has just laid her finger directly on one of the two most important stories of our time; that a mass of the American public (27% of the population? 75% of the GOP? A horde perhaps the size of modern Germany?) aren’t simply mistaken or misunderstood or misled by villainous men.

They are unfit citizens. They are Bad Americans.

They are the evil gift that keeps on giving. The residue of centuries of impacted racism, Dominionism, homophobia and assorted other spices, set ablaze by to warm the electoral ambition of everyone from George Wallace to George Bush.

They are pandered to and flattered by Fox teevee and Hate Radio, and they are all gathered conspicuously together under the same political banner.

There is finally no other explanation that will bear the weight of the fact of the short, catastrophic arc of the Bush Administration and the longer, brutal malevolence of the 30 Year Long March of the Wingnut GOP.

The good men have long since fled the Party. The barely adequate men have fled the Party.

Hell, anyone who can swirl a shotglass-full of synapses and not come up with “Commie fem’nazi queers” as the punchline to every joke and the answer to every question has fled the Party.

The honest answer to the question raised by Frank Luntz – “Why do Republicans keep winning if their candidates are so shitty?” – is that the GOP base is morally subhuman at a deep and probably incurable level.

That selling fascism to brownshirts and racism to intractable bigots is like any other kind of narcotics trafficking. Like selling hillbilly heroin to Limbaugh. Users are not necessarily going to score out loud and in public, but they don't exactly need a whole lotta persuasion to get them to buy and mainline the lethal shit the Right is slinging.

Luntz’s “solution” is the most recent GOP Talking Point being handed around the Conservative Pundit glory holes as eagerly as Hillary snuff porn anime: That Liberals need to stop being so “angry”.

When your party is led by outright lunatics and liars, traitors and thieves…

When after thirty years your base can only take nourishment suckling on the poison that oozes from Cheney’s bile sacs, Coulter’s fangs, Hannity’s tongue, O’Reilly’s wheezing pores, Falwell’s ingrown soul…

When your official cult house organs have been spewing raw hatred it the noosphere for thiry years…

...and your advice is that the other side who have finally had it with playing nice with these moral locusts are” too angry”?

It boggles the mind.

But then again, Luntz isn’t stupid; he knows perfectly well that he serves evil. He simply doesn’t care. Selling out his country is a good buck, and as an obedient whore he will form his mouth to say whatever it is his paymasters wish him to say.

However this is the problem:

What do you do when 1/4 of the people in your country are the enemy of your country?

We cannot be a United State when 1/4 of the nation does not believe in Uniting. When they believe only in capitulation and conquest?

When their point-of-view – their superstitious, eliminationist, Hate Radio-barbered point-of-view – is impervious to reason, compassion or mercy,

Because while they may not possess the basic cognitive and empathic functions the Good Lord saw fit to endow flatworms with, they do stomp and scream and vote, and it is high time – long past time – to start speaking of the 27% that props up the GOP as The Problem.

A Problem every bit as destructive as global warming, and that requires every bit as much of a sea-change in attitude and a generational perspective.

End Part One of Three

I dunno. Is there enough viable DNA left to clone General Sherman?

If the southern aristocracy had been exiled after the War Against Evil Slavers, the nation would have been a lot better off. Never take your foot from the neck of a live viper.

As you are certainly aware by now, One of their main cheerleaders has passed on to his much deserved reward. I will leave it to a higher power to determine that reward.
One Reverend Jerry Falwell went into the unknown today.Out of respect for a mourning family, I will reserve my thoughts at this time.Because, They are not good thoughts.

Ding Dong! The Witch is dead. Which old Witch? The Wicked Witch!
Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead.
Wake up - sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed.
Wake up, the Wicked Witch is dead. (H)e's gone where the goblins go,
Below - below - below. Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out.
Ding Dong' the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low.
Let them know
The Wicked Witch is dead!

You really do have to wonder how much less that 27% would be if the states of the old CSA were not part of this country.

Jeez, drifty, not to rain your parade that is
so nifty

but if these men, barely adequate and good
have left

and the GOP so bereft,

Where the HELL did they all wind up?
Are they face down in a think tank,
full of ichorous bile and stank?

Or did they march off to Wall Street certain,
or get hired at Halliburton?

I'd like to believe they've really bailed,
that Repubs are a party failed

But then it stings just like a right cross
or like some gristle craving waxed floss

they've not departed they're not gone
they've just gone silent and withdrawn

and what really really gets my goat
is their reflexive GOP-er Vote
still continues to this day
Oh, God, please make them go away.

Biology and Physics

Biology and Physics, the two most critical considerations in maintaining a healthy body, mind, spirit and heart, are the subject of this guestbook entry and in our news for the day.

After 55 years of accumulating thousands of dollars worth of education, counseling (psychic and psychological), workshops, consciousness trainings, creative performance experiences, and continual readings and writings that dig deeply into the possibility of being an enhanced self organizing anarchist exempt from the dutiful daughter routine expected of my gender.... an expectation that will cause ostracization when not adhered to....

I look to the management of my own biology and physics for grounding in the face of critical life changing moments.

I use these two main considerations to ward off any voodoo, and all hack attacks out to undermine my ability to stay fresh, open minded, and intentional in my aims to shift this stupid economy from machiavellian practices meant to drive these two basic life thriving components out of human awareness and consideration.

Biology.... the body is made up of complex organic and inorganic materials engaged in intricate, but reliable, processes that produce one fifth live protoplasm in continuous cell production that provides the materials that make the body and all of its parts. These cells fire more often when young, and more slowly when older. The other four fifths of the body are in entropy... meaning the cells are in the process of dying, and are replaced by the new cells made in this primordial soup we call protoplasm. But this refreshing of the cells in the body occurs only when the body takes in the nutrition necessary to accomplish these amazing results. It takes a few weeks to refresh the cells in the entire body... which actually isn't very long.

When we eat real food, we get the inorganic cell salts necessary to couple with the organic materials in the body to produce new cells. When we eat processed foods, the inorganic cell salts are processed out before the food gets to you and the body cannot reproduce quality cells any longer. We can get sick, tired, weak, agitated, angry and show symptoms of psychological imbalance... all caused by our biology dependent on the food we eat. We will probably default to the advice of a doctor whose main job is to sell pharmaceuticals, which probably give back enough cell salts to diminish effects, but not correct the problems.

It really pisses me off that the medical industry has thwarted the herbal remedies of old and have colluded with the food industry to assist them in crafting our choices such that we are like pigs to the slaughter, in slow motion.... Unaware, faithful, and trusting as human beings naturally are, until the Adam effect wears off. (Adam was the guy in the bible who fell asleep and never woke up)...

But this Adam, or madam, has gotten herself educated and saw enough death and suffering from illness to put two and two together, and I am here to tell you that if you want a healthy body, that allows for a healthy mind, heart and spirit, your first step is to love yourself and your body enough to prepare (or pay someone to prepare) and eat healthy food. That means veggies, grains (pasta is processed food, rice is a grain), fruits, and the meat, fish, and fowl of animals that have fed off of the earth, not processed feed.

If you have to bring a sick body to health, the process is not difficult. As you are changing your diet, go to whole foods, or any homeopathic store and buy and start taking each of the twelve vital inorganic cell salts you need to bring back the balance in your protoplasm. Stop eating crap, especially sugar. Take a teaspoon of honey for your craving.... eat popcorn for filler. Bring down your bag of pollution that is crafting a major health attack early on, by eating fresh salads, cottage cheese, or tofu and veggies for a while.

Physics: Aside from being a complicated study regarding atoms, and energy, physics is all about light and energy brought about by turning the light around and focusing on the energy that occurs or is missing in your own body, heart, spirit and mind.

Physics is self generated. Trash in/trash out. If you bring wholesome ideas that inspire you to action into your consciousness, then you trip the light fantastic. The first law of thermodynamics, upon which the study of physics is based, is that ACTION CREATES ENERGY. The second law is: Where there is no energy, entropy (the process of decay and dying) ensues (happens next).

So to pay attention to your own physics is crucial, especially now when some kids don't have gymnastics to teach them the value of energy output and how that enhances the spirit, the mind and freshens the body.

The more energy one expends (running, walking, dancing, performing, working, concentrating, intercoursing, debating, engaging in life's many action oriented activities that require the body to move and breath with concentrated efforts) the more alert, the less afraid, the more substantial one feels.

If one sits around waiting for life to do something to get one off his/her ass, the more stressed, the more agitated, the more slovenly one becomes about his/her own life. Its like the serpent eating its own tail.. the circularity of an entropy fed by no action and no cause for action.

Holding ones life as a potential energy source awaiting one good idea that will inspire it to action, creates a curiosity worth exploring.

If one's mind is too full of darkness, or too full of a belief rather than an experience of spiritual living, then one can easily be thrown into catch 22 ideas that are paralyzing and call for pharmaceuticals to calm the inner voices that cannot be sorted out by him/herself. Beware of those legal drugs out to fuck you up and validate your unworthiness because that is the stuff this economy is made of. When I hear in the news of genocide and suicide bombers and kids who kill, I realize how far these profit mongers will go to get some meaningless bucks into their pockets. I think it is important to explore the dark side of life, where our creativity lives, and to bring to light your discoveries that free humanity from blind faith in economies out to harm us.

BIOLOGY AND PHYSIC IN MOTION

Brighten yourself with a good solid walk or jog, or an hour of yoga, or two hours at the gym. Feed yourself some good solid food. Allow your imagination to soar freely until you light upon something that really turns you on, and will serve another in some way. Because as George Battialle states in Erotism:Death and Sensuality, " human nature needs to serve, and animal nature needs to be divine in that service'. Where this is missing, all sorts of anquish and ping pong self annihilation will occur.

I apologize to the youth of America for not being bright enough, early enough to have seen this coming. Everyone is guilty and no one is to blame. We have to pull together as one to snap out of this trance that keeps aloof any blame.

I have a preference and a demand for Justice and Freedom. Justice and Freedom and independence rely on a civilized people who engage with ethics, logic and passion to build trust and then develop an intelligent interdependence, which is what we do in America when we are not broke and broken... If we are kept too busy and/or even too well to care to pay attention, we may learn to adapt rather than raise a ruckus. In conscious action, we can cause change to occur more rapidly, more safely with little to no bloody revolution...

I am talking about causing evolution to occur right now, now now now now now... every second of now so time no longer matters but now does. And now is always there and non repeating... but you have to be there, to be there, and that is not easy in a world already organized in bad practices and propped up by those who have no intention to let go of those practices....

Who dares to confront these monsters?

We do, as individuals we take care of our Biology and our Physics and let the markets that support crime, war and disease collapse, while replacing them with markets that make a difference in the quality of human life. Our children and our planet require it.
