More and more

The Majority Base of the GOP -- the segregationists, homophobes, Christopaths and assorted other Toby Keith and Ted Nugent Karaoke Night wannabes in the Bugfuck Crazy Revival Tent Choir -- are getting cranky with the Sun King and his petroleum-retinue.

Of course they’ll swing along behind Dubya when the Trillion Dollar Thurston Howell III Memorial Big Tax Giveaway crosses his desk even though it will only further hock their futures and rob their children, because these are the millions and millions of Little Bus Republicans we're talking about.

The ones in whom perhaps Herr Senator Doktor Frist -- using his Magic Remote Diagnostic Powers-- can detect some higher brain functions, but all objective evidence available on the ground and by direct observation suggests have been cognitively guillotined from their monobrows up.

Lacking even the sense God gives dust bunnies, the Base are apparently congenitally counterprogrammed to refuse to see that that meatpole that impales them more and more viciously year after year after year protrudes from the fetid loins of the criminals they keep electing to office.

Year after year after year.

And yet like the omnipresent poo smell they whiff everywhere without a single synapse firing off to tickle them into wondering if that stank-they-cannot-shake has anything to do with the fact that upon rising each day they make their morning toilette into their own shoes...so too do they have just enough active nerve ganglia stitched into their body flesh here and there that while they are apparently incapable of comprehending the True Name of their tormentor (even though he is right behind them), they do notice that their ass hurts one helluva lot.

So they need someone to blame.

Like taking a fall in karate, they need something to slap as they hit the mat.

Something to take their tiny, beautiful minds off the fact that the Dear Leader and the Party of God are absolutely kicking the living shit out of them. Screwing their planet, their country, their labor, their rights, their futures and their children straight into the ground...and that they have been giddily complicit in their own ruination.

That was the deal: In exchange for Queers to blame, they’ll ignore torture.

In exchange for Flag Burning Amendments, they’ll help the GOP heap the United States Constitution onto the pyre.

In exchange for making Liberals the New Dirty Jews, they’ll let their labor be devalued and outsourced.

In exchange for smearing Feminists, they’ll let the education system go to hell, and let good education cease to be a right and become just another privilege of the landed gentry.

In exchange for making the Michael Moore the repository of all evil, they’ll let war criminals, traitors, looters and lunatics run the government of the United States right over a cliff.

In exchange for being willfully ignorant and turning their back on Reality, they get Hateclowns like Rush and O’Reilly and Coulter to amuse them.

And in this run-up to the Maul in the Fall, that’s corner into which their Thirty-Year Long March Strategy has painted the GOP leadership.

It is what they see in every poll: That the Republican Party has, of late, been insufficiently hateful and divisive to slake the Base.

For purely partisan reasons, the Party of God long ago got its orc army blissfully hooked on pure, unstepped RageSmack...delivered via the large-bore cardiac needles of Tom DeLay, Newt Gingrich, Jerry Falwell, James Dobson, Fox teevee, the entire Amplitude Modulation Radio Spectrum, and all the rest of the usual suspects.

And through the relentless tactical cultivation of 24/7 White Male Rage, the Republicans control every single branch, root and vine of government.

They have every single fucking thing they've always insisted were necessary to enact their No Government Utopia. And on top of it all, they were vouchsafed something no Administration has had in sixty years; the moral stature and fiscal blank check of a murderous sneak attack on American soil.

The Democrats controlled the government for most of the last half of the 20th century years, and can claim a rich and proud record of accomplishment along with the inevitable bloating and complacency that comes with being too long in a niche unopposed complete.

The GOP has been in complete control for five and a half years, and what do they have to show for it?

The poison fruits of the GOPs madness and incompetence are everywhere rotting on the branches of government they fought so furiously to seize, and are thudding -- bloody and festering -- to the ground in every direction. Iraq abroad. Katrina at home. Penury for the masses and trillion-dollar tax cuts for millionaires.

In the epic confrontation of Dubya vs. Reality, Dubya is getting his ass sawed off and handed to him on the good china on every front, which has never really been a problem before because the Base have never shown any inkling that the give a dead rat’s ass about the good of the country or the fate of the Earth.

However, they have always required their Fix. Their “Jew Du Jour”. Their Scapegoat for the pain Reality inflicts on them, and that’s why the Base is pissed.

Those are the anti-Faustian terms (power swapped even-up for helping enable their willful blindness) which the Base has always stipulated, and the GOP has failed to deliver the goods. They have left Base stranded and strung-out. Jittering like over-caffeinated mole rats in a paint shaker, demanding their ritual sacrifice. Their next dose of hate-stoked fury.

Instead they find their leadership asking them to understand the Dubai Ports deal based on “nuance”? Actual “diplomacy” with Iran? A “comprehensive” immigration policy based on “compromise”?

You know, all that complicated, gray-area, governmenty stuff that the Base has been trained like circus seals to believe are the worst kinds of obscenity!

Naughty Swear Words!

Weak, Lefty, treacherous words with many, scary syllables and nary a fag or feminazi offered up anywhere on which they can vent their fear and bile to take the edge off their knifing withdrawal pain.

Hence Flag Burning and Gays are now, at this eleventh hour, frantically kicked into the national dialogue. A teeth-clenched, nose-held, eyes-clamped-shut pity-fuck desperately offered up to the fanatics on whom Republican victories now always depend. Fooling no one. Insulting everyone.

And from a distance, I must admit it is just damned funny watching the pea-brained homunculi on which the GOP has built its entire Party throw an electoral tantrum whenever the GOP leadership takes even the weakest imaginable stab at actually governing.

Like watching the ass-end of a mad dog trying to steal a bone out of its own mouth.
