Medicare for All would lift an overwhelming burden on all US employers, public and private, large and small. It's the economies of scale, stupid.

The discourse dilemma is a little like the gun argument in that most of us simply don't want to live in a state of low-level warfare.
The difference is that in the gun argument, arming ourselves further will not help the rapidly deteriorating situation, whereas in the discourse dilemma if we don't start fighting we will continue to lose, which is a big part of how we got where we are now.

Thank you again for the podcast, my whole life is busy being upended right now, and the hour of sanity is very helpful to my mental state.
