A group of freshmen House Republicans held a news conference yesterday to highlight GOP transparency initiatives, including “read the bill" reform that would require all bills to be posted online for a minimum of 72 hours before they are brought to a vote. “We want to help foster a more open and transparent and accountable debate in the House of Representatives,” Rep. Steve Austria (R-OH) said at the event. For his part, House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) stated yesterday that “all of these open government and transparency issues that we’re offering are rules we will live by once we’re in the majority.”FOX NEWS ANCHOR BILL HEMMER: “We may see a final version of the House health care reform bill by the end of the week. That’s according to House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer. This coming as a group of the freshmen Republican congressman holding a news conference yesterday calling for greater transparency and more time to read the bill. How novel.”
REP. MIKE COFFMAN (R-CO): “What the freshmen Republicans here want is what the American people want, and that is more transparency and a more deliberate process.”
REP. LYNN JENKINS (R-KS): “Speaker Pelosi promised the ‘most open’ Congress in history, but the reality is anything but.”
They never meant a word of it. Not a single word.REP. CHRIS LEE (R-NY): “At the end of the day, the American public who is cheated when we do not have an opportunity to review what’s in given legislation.”
Which is why it is entirely possible that the Ghost of Duplicity Present will be showing Paul Ryan a mob burning him in effigy in the Janesville, Wisconsin town square.
And. with a few lucky breaks, the Ghost of Duplicity Yet To come will be previewing Ryan's future in 2018: sobbing uncontrollably and handing his gavel over to a Democrat.

We watched Tom Price get elevated to the House. Where he was writing legislation to bump his stock prices and the Speaker knew it. Ethics? Oversight?
So they rewarded Price and elevated him to HHS Secretary right when they wanted to repeal and replace the ACA and anyone believe they did not realize his corruptness and think by putting him in HHS that his greed would just go away?
So what are you going to do with all that tax cut money? Then, what are you going to do with all that less money you will have when taxes go up?
Over all
I see this mainly as giving their big donors tax dollars to donate for their campaigns. Think that money and all them ads are going to help?
Like they used the Select Benghazi committee investigation .. Tax dollars and using time in congress on our time to campaign against HRC.

The real harm, knowingly that will come from their adventures in Ayn Randism.
If there is enough in the mid terms it could be repealed. But they would need the numbers to over ride a veto from President blumpy.
Then again, president Blumpy likes signing things for "the wins".

I think every GOPer, when they go to their donor, will do ANYTHING for that donation.

That they had to do this tells you a few things, or highlights them a little.
First, they really are freaked about losing the midterms. There was just a meeting for the elected-since-2010ers among them to try and tell them what it's like in a they're-getting-their-asses-kicked year.
Second, there aren't any small donors to the Republican party any more, and they think they can't run without the help of the filthy rich fucks this bill is designed to fellate, I mean cut the taxes of. ROI, don't you know.
Third, the marginally more aware among them realize that they have better odds making K street happy in order to ensure employment there than they do keeping their seats, which even if they manage to retain, won't be worth as much to them a year from next month.
