Harry Reid Shows Once Again

Why the Senate should be sold for scrap and its members hauled off to the Smithsonian as the museum pieces that they are.

He promised, promised, promised, promised, promised, promised, promised, promised that the modern Senate filibuster -- the pipe-bomb that the crackpot minority party has duct-taped to the throat of our democracy -- would be substantially reformed.

So, of course, once the power to enact his promise was put in his hands, Harry Reid weaseled out.

Because that is Harry Reid's nature.

What pisses me off is the number of people who actually thought this body was going to make this particular change.

It was never going to happen. Nobody can fucking get that.

What's coming is going to be even worse than the last four years.

The Malefactors Of Great Wealth own both of the major parties. The Dinocrats simply play the "good crooked cop" to the Reptilians' "bad crooked cop".

If the Malefactors wanted the filibuster procedures reformed, for whatever reasons, then I expect the Reptilian crackpots would suddenly discover sanity.

OTOH, I have noticed that the Dinocrats seem to be becoming the preferred vehicle of the MOGW.

Perhaps smarter members of the MOGW have decided that the Reptilians are growing somewhat too demented for maximal utility.

Perhaps wiser Malefactors remember that their counterparts in 1930s Germany thought they could control a demented demagogue and his bleating goose-steppers--until the day they learned otherwise.

Hence, our Malefactors may have decided that the Dinocratic Party now makes a safer vehicle for their Smaug-like ambitions, now that the actual liberals in that party have been neutralized or expelled.

BTW, over on The Confluence, I have coined the term "Smaug Elite" for our Malefactors Of Great Wealth, since they want to hoard all the wealth of our society, just like Smaug resting on his hoard of loot. Tolkien-loving liberals, please feel free to use this. -_^

I read that he didn't have the votes for even a majority (yes, I saw the Rachel Maddow piece)...
All I'm saying is that maybe there are other weasels in need of drowning over this in addition to Harry.

Hamfast, I thought I was the only one who compared the 0.1% to Smaug. I feel reassured.
