Not sure if you've yet seen the piece by Mike Lofgren, former GOP Senate Finance Committee staffer, posted on truthout and linked to on C&L.

Here was the comment I posted in response:

Although I'm glad to hear inside confirmation of what liberals have been saying for the past decade (cf. driftglass, Krugman (whom you graciously acknowledge), et al.), there is a question of personal responsibility that arises here. Meaning that as the Republican party was jamming through policies that were and are hollowing out our republic, you were busy typing up the script. I don't say that dismiss your piece, which is comprehensive in scope and brutally effective. But if you truly believe our country is on the brink, then you have the patriotic duty to provide us with the names and details -- not just the view from above -- that will give your story some teeth. Otherwise the MSM already has the Scott McLellan/John Snow disaffected-GOP-staffer narrative in which to comfortably fit and effectively bury your tale. And we'll all just continue driving over the cliff together.

Sir,
Found this from a post at "Brilliant at Breakfast" and was so moved that I have to share. Even if you beat me to it.

There is much there that may inspire you to do your own follow-up post.
And why the fuck hasn't our media had anything about this? That's a complaint, not a question, because we all know why our media hasn't.
Happy Labor Day.
