2008

"It was the best of times,

it was the worst of times,

it was the age of wisdom,

it was the age of foolishness,

it was the epoch of belief,

it was the epoch of incredulity,

it was the season of Light,

it was the season of Darkness,

it was the spring of hope,

it was the winter of despair,

we had everything before us,

we had nothing before us,

we were all going direct to heaven,

we were all going direct the other way..."

-- Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities

"God be between you and harm in all the empty places you walk."
-- blessing from the 18th Egyptian Dynasty

You got ripped off on the Joker, and it looks like Maher's people took a bite off my cake, too. Unsung geniuses, we.

;>)

A brighter New Year, D. - May we all find shelter from the storm.

You provided lots of my happiness last year simply by telling it like it is. Keep it going my brother...we're going even stronger in 'o9. I'm subscribing what I would have given to the NYT into your PayPal box 'cause you're SOOOO much better. Happy Hogmanay!

darkblack,
Amigo, we'll all have to start getting up at 0-dark-thirty and stretch for an hour to have any hope of keeping up with you.

Angel Of Mercy,
Many thanks.

Hef,
Thank you. I have no PayPal account wired to to this blog yet, but plan to fire one up in the new year.

Happy New Year, y'all. OK, it's only 9:00 on this coast.

May 2009 be a damn sight better than the last year.

It was the year that the Congress of the United States of America flipped off the people it is supposed to represent and went against those same people by a margin of 300 to 1 against the idea of spending American taxpayer money to give to the dirty fucking sonsabitches who had already bankrupted the country so they could give bonuses to the thieving fucking bastards who masterinded the whole thing, Billions of fucking dollars in bonuses for being so clever as to ass fuck us in the first place.

Other than that, Happy New Year to you all.

Thanks Drifty, yer a National Treasure.

Photoshop is mightier than the sword, especially on your hard drive.

My best wishes to one and all for a peaceful and prosperous New Year.

Darkblack: You're not the only blogger's who'd ever been ripped off by Maher's people. He and his people used to poach from my first blog.

DG, nice photo essay. You keep reminding me why I need to come back.

So I've surmised, JP. Apparently a pattern of unauthorized acquisitive desires exists within that cabal.
That said, subjectively speaking I'd rather be ripped off by Maher than Perez Hilton (which also occurred)...But still - FILTHY LIBERAL PURLOINERS!
