Over there.

Over there.
Send the word, send the word over there -
That the cranks are coming,
The wanks are coming,
The blogs rum-tumming
Ev'rywhere.
...

Over on this post at Gilliard’s the thread has evolved into a lively smackdown of one of his local trolls on the subject of the AP story of Sunnis being burned alive that was sourced to one “Captain Jamil Hussein”

The troll-in-residence sums up the entire Rightwing obsession with this story thusly:

To make matters worse, Captain Jamil Hussein was a key named source in more than 60 AP stories on at least 25 supposed violent incidents over eight months.

Until this controversy is resolved, every one of those AP reports is tainted.

And to “resolve” this “controversy”, Michele Malkin is packing her vibrator, witchbag and emergency Kool Aid rations and is going to Iraq to ferret out the “truth”.

Which somewhere between fiddling while Rome burns and jerking off into a basoon that's playing "Time Is On My Side" while the Titanic goes down.

The back-and-forth at Gilly’s is mostly about sourcing and the degree of taintage that the truth or falsity of the “Jamil Hussein” story imputes to AP.

What this manufactured outrage is not about, of course, is the reality of what is going on in Iraq.

What is really going on in Iraq – facts that no one disputes – is…

…murdered civilians showing up in the streets every day, being stacked like cordwood in the morgues.

...squads of armed sectarians ruling the streets.

…our pet Prime Minister all but submitting his resignation because his government is a joke and his country is ungovernable.

…our soldiers being shoveled down the meatgrinder for nothing more than George Bush’s lies and George Bush’s ego.

This is about the Dribbling Third who cannot cope with the idea that their Dear Leader lied them into this mess and then fucked it all to hell-and-gone. That these CHUDs who sneered at the "elite" and then loudly/proudly elected and then re-elected a dry drunk halftard, have now been shown unequivocally to have been one of the greatest generations of dupes and losers in American history.

Everything they "knew" with such passionate certainty has turned out to be a lie.

Everyone they put their absolute, cultist faith in has turned out to be a liar or a fool or insane.

Oh and soooo much worse, the Dirty Hippies were right all along.

For thirty years they screamed that the Dirty Hippies were destroying democracy, and for thirty years they have clawed and slimed and lied and cheated their way to Glorious One Party Christian Conservative Rule.

And now, for six years, the Dribbling Third -- the “STFU, we won!" Conservatives -- have had a blank check to operationalize their dearest masturbatory dreams. Absolute license to run nekkid through the Treasury, appoint Creationists and Oil Industry hacks to sensitive positions to their heart’s content, and bomb the shit out of anyone who looked at ‘em cross-eyed.

And they have succeeded in fucking up everything they have touched.

Everything.

Every. Single. Fucking. Thing.

However for the spear carriers of the “Party of Personal Responsibility”, taking actual, personal responsibility is always for other people, so atoning for being such monumentally incompetent citizens and stewards ain’t on their agenda.

Like failed millennial cultists, all they have to hold themselves together is their love of shit blowing up and their bizarre, dogmatic calculus of exactly when and where they will ultimately be proven right. And when the appointed hour comes and goes and they are shown to be wrong -- again -- they just can't give it up.

They’ve gone all in -- body, wallet and soul -- with their deranged ideology, so when Reality just beats them stupid like Ali dismembering Ernie Terrell (And every time it lands a haymaker, Realty bellows "What's my name, fool? What's my name?"), they do not leave the ring. They just spiral deeper into their dark world of superstition, conspiracies and decimal points.

And that is what this is all about.

The Iraq Project is doomed and all alternatives are horrible: even the people near the top of the government -- people with actual access to realtime data that doesn’t have a fucking thing to do with “Captain Jamil Hussein” -- have reached that conclusion.

What this is about is wingnuts looking down on a national conflagration whose origins are already well-established -- and for which they are in no small measure responsible -- and finding one specific garage-fire that may or may not have been set by a specific group of arsonists, screaming "J'Accuse!”, and pouring all their desperate, obsessive need to ignore the miles of flame all around them into making the specifics of that particular burning sofa a cause célèbre.

If the AP has been clowning with information from Iraq, we need to know it. Period. And investigations need to be held. And I would loudly cheer on such an effort...after we have a full and thoroughgoing account of the crimes, lies and war profiteering of the Bush Administration.

As soon as we hold to merciless account those who blew 9/11, who lied us into Iraq and blew that too, who let New Orleans die, who have tried to convert their lethal failures into quick cash for their cronies and political hay for themselves...after all of that then let's definitely find out if AP got some of the details of its reporting of George Bush's Iraqi debacle wrong.

But that is not what this is about.

This is about constructing yet another Liberal Conspiracy Myth – “The dirty, hippy Media” conspiracy -- for why George Bush and his band of righteous Freepubclians really lost Iraq.

It is about the Dribbling Third manufacturing one more fascist bedtime story to comfort them and hold the trolls together as they are torched back into the political sewers from whence they came.

Brilliant, D. This is one of your best posts of all time, exceeding the best of your halcyon days in the summer of '05. You are a master wordsmith, amigo. This is the best:

And the pith of this asinine "controversy":

What this is about is wingnuts looking down on a national conflagration whose origins are already well-established -- and for which they are in no small measure responsible -- and finding one specific garage-fire that may or may not have been set by a specific group of arsonists, screaming "J'Accuse!”, and pouring all their desperate, obsessive need to ignore the miles of flame all around them into making the specifics of that particular burning sofa a cause célèbre.

Oh, forget it. I'd have to quote the whole thing. It's one big highlight reel of verbal mastery. Bravo.

BAGHDAD (AP) -- The Interior Ministry acknowledged Thursday that an Iraqi police officer whose existence had been denied by the Iraqis and the U.S. military is in fact an active member of the force, and said he now faces arrest for speaking to the media.

Ministry spokesman Brig. Abdul-Karim Khalaf, who had previously denied there was any such police employee as Capt. Jamil Hussein, said in an interview that Hussein is an officer assigned to the Khadra police station, as had been reported by The Associated Press.

The captain, whose full name is Jamil Gholaiem Hussein, was one of the sources for an AP story in late November about the burning and shooting of six people during a sectarian attack at a Sunni mosque." h/t Attaturk, etc.

I need to set up a macro with that friggin' URL. You know, as a virtual 2x4 to shove up the asses of the ubiquitous revisionists whose entire body of naysaying hinges on the possible non-existence of Captain Hussein.

Because one can only hit CTRL-P so many times before the keys wear out.

dribbling third- that is some funny stuff! The whole things rocks, as noted above, but dribbling third... I picture high chairs in front of computers, eating trays in place, to keep the cheeto-colored drool off the keyboard.

yes, indeedy, Drift.

VERY selective, and hysterical yowling, about "accuracy" is now the stock in trade for the people who knocked back tureens full of the bushCo snakeoil-koolaid-and-bullshit cocktail, AND, with the slopbucket tailings running off their chins, stuck the tankard at the rest of us and commanded:

"Drink, suckers!"

No. Fuck you. We LIKE catching Malkin with her troop-supporting-camo-panties full of foul, runny, shit.

YOU drink!

Perfect, just perfect.

OT, it's getting to be crunch time, with all this bullshit about sticking another 40K of our troops in the meatgrinder for "legacy-and-hiney-covering" purposes.

"Bipartisanship" is the codeword for

"You mean even 'though we lost both houses of congress, we don't get to keep fucking you in the ass?"

Someone, preferably, Pelosi, needs to tell Boyda and the rest of the newbies to keep their fucking pieholes shut, and leave the talk-show ops to the people who've been ass-raped by the repubs for 6 years.

Me thinks Malkin uses the koolaid as a vibrator lubricant, now that you mention it.

And hey, as far as the C&L headline is concerned, consider the beer poured. You're the best.

Man, that is poetry. I'm impressed.

Nice stuff here. I don't come here often, but I always have a good time when I do. Thanks.

It struck me during this latest desperate picking of a nit by the Malkin crowd how the right wing punditry reacted to this alleged dubious reporting versus their reaction to the NYT and Washington Post reporting of "leaked" intelligence regarding WMDs from "anonymous" senior administration officials to justify this sham of a mockery of a fraud of a "war".

I'm of the opinion that this surge of 40,000 troops is an admission by this misadministration that the jig is almost up on this caper and they need to take advantage of one last chance to suck all the revenue they can from the treasury into the hands of the military industrial complex and eventually into the Swiss bank accounts of themselves and their friends.

Dan, I outter come here more often. If it wasn't for John Amato, I wouldn't seen this.

Bravo, again, DG. And I have to admit, this is one of your very best. It's more news- and investigation-worthy than Malkin's faked orgasm over the Kerry photo but this latest kerfuffle (mentioned in my new Assclowns of the Week) only illustrates that these people seem to have an anaphylactic reaction to the truth.

I SOOOO enjoyed this post.

Someday we will all look back on this period, reflect unfondly, and probably wish to see some fresh horsewhip applied to some Republican *ss.

I can only hope that the Dems will step up to the plate; demand *real* answers of the self-interested parties of the last few years; hold all of these politiogogues responsible for the decisions they have so zealously supported in the name of partisianship; and finally remember why they came to power - not to support an ideological government, but a government OF the people and FOR the people.

Dems, I'm countin' on ya.

It's weird you turn this into a Right vs Left issue. Obama and the Dems are no different or better than the Republican Trash who started this war. Even if Hillary were to take Obama's spot as Democratic candidate for 2012, we'd still be staring at Zionist wannabes doing the killing for the only nuclear power in the Middle East.

Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate who seriously wants to end this mess. Get past the Left vs Right garbage and support someone who represents what you stand for.
