Today In Cognitive Dissonance: The Washington Post

Were you to crack open the WaPo opinion page this morning you would see a heartbreaking piece written by Seth Rich's parents pleading with the wingnut conspiracy machine to stop politicizing their son's murder.

We’re Seth Rich’s parents. Stop politicizing our son’s murder.

...
Still, conservative news outlets and commentators continue, day after painful day, to peddle discredited conspiracy theories that Seth was killed after having provided WikiLeaks with emails from the DNC. Those theories, which some reporters have since retracted, are baseless, and they are unspeakably cruel.

We know that Seth’s personal email and his personal computer were both inspected by detectives early in the investigation and that the inspection revealed no evidence of any communications with anyone at WikiLeaks or anyone associated with WikiLeaks. Nor did that inspection reveal any evidence that Seth had leaked DNC emails to WikiLeaks or to anyone else. Indeed, those who have suggested that Seth’s role as a data analyst at the DNC gave him access to a wide trove of emails are simply incorrect — Seth’s job was to develop analytical models to encourage voters to turn out to vote. He didn’t have access to DNC emails, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee emails, John Podesta’s emails or Hillary Clinton’s emails. That simply wasn’t his job.

Despite these facts, our family’s nightmare persists. Seth’s death has been turned into a political football. Every day we wake up to new headlines, new lies, new factual errors, new people approaching us to take advantage of us and Seth’s legacy. It just won’t stop. The amount of pain and anguish this has caused us is unbearable. With every conspiratorial flare-up, we are forced to relive Seth’s murder and a small piece of us dies as more of Seth’s memory is torn away from us...
Sadly, pleading with monsters to stop being monsters rarely works.  If it did, the GOP would have vanished from the face of the Earth decades ago.

And then, just a few inches up the electronic page, you would see veteran ghoulish wingnut conspiracy monger, Seth Rich conspiracy bandwagon-jumper-oner and future Vatican layabout, Newt Gingrich, once again being given ample room by Fred Hiatt to pimp another one of his unreadable lumps of self-aggrandizing prose and proclaim the foreign policy genius of Donald Trump.
The president just made a titanic foreign policy shift. The media missed it.

Newt Gingrich, a Republican from Georgia, was speaker of the House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999. He served as vice chair of the Trump transition team and is the author of the book “Understanding Trump,” which is scheduled to be released in June.
In American. all the wrong people get body-slammed.

If Seth was a data guy for the GOP and ws killed?

Take the Roger Ailes passing, (or human relief). How they decry of not speaking ill of the dead. They are loud of it.
Not new, Bill Clinton's mutual agreed sex between two adults outside of his marriage was/ is impeachable as Newt's adulterous acts were not. Or even Denny Hastert's pedophile cover up for all these years.
The Larry Craig Minn. Bathroom arrest. FOX tan Senator Craig as a Democrat Senator every time it reported on it. Any "FOX (only viewer only knew Senator Craig and his airport restroom adventures were disgusting and more so because he is a Democrat.
They did this with mark Foley who was hitting on all the rich parents kids who got them summer jobs as congress pages *to learn the GOP ropes to rule the world). You didn't see FOX going after the young congressional pages day after day.
But then FOX and the likes are not News outlets as a news consumer.
--I realize Viewers of FOXisms is to be them all you can eat, hate trough", for those that tune in.
Hannity taking his show on the road. In front of a hospital
where a woman lies in a coma as she had for a long time. Disparaging her husband against family members over euthanizing (pulling the plug).
A place where big GOP media does not belong........................!
We do not see much of any network pointing its cameras on the FOX SEX debacles nor the racial harassment daily, now do we. yet right wing media, led by the FOX does this to other networks .
What would cause them to pause?
When a Montanan was asked about the Candidate for congress body slamming a reporter asking pointed questions of "mass destruction" Committing a GOP terrorist act. The unstable breakdown of self control of an arrogant person that doesn't "believe" representing people means people who ask hard questions of disagree with him.
The person asked for their thought on the matter replied,
"Sound like my kind of representative".
Sure, until he screws them! But that would never happen because the Republican Brotherhood takes care of only their own?
Gee, if he assaulted a reporter (all reporters being evil liberals) he will punch out those Democrats (all dems are liberals) and be strong and wrong in congress.. Is that it?
This guy is weak and unstable mentally. If he was a Dem I would have to look more closely at his opposition even if he had an R in front of his name.
Like Joe Lie-berman when he lost his primary in 2008. He locked himself in hotel room and had a complete mental breakdown. The pressure and rejection took his sanity. If I voted in that election. It could not have been for Joe L. I could not have an unstable individual making decisions of war and peace that buckles in that manner.
This goes to GOP'ers that voted for the Trump. They did not vote for their ideology. maybe to poke the republican establishment bear in the eye. They knew HRC was the more competent candidate. That is not how they are conditioned to vote. Let alone think.
And Newt'er here is a old key to the to the KKK mindset executive restroom that has not been fixed and the toilet is plugged and continues to overflow.

Like the so called religious rights devoutness of silence over the "Calista adulteress" as Ambassador to the Vatican. Where she is going to have to be forgiven, accept forgiveness for something she doesn't believe she did any religious wrong.

Did you see Jennifer Rubin stand up on her hind trotters and squeal "The fish rots from the head!" about the climate the media is immersed in because of president four-year-old and his demonization of the press? Did you catch the conspicuous absence of any mention of "Roger Ailes" or "Rush Limbaugh" in her heartfelt, courageous indictment of the situation that she herself helped create, and financially benefited from for years?
