Shorter version would be Sean Connery's "That's the Chicago way." scene from The Untouchables.

There are historical reason why liberals can seem timid.

Conservatives acting in such ways toward a "greater end" can do...well...whatever without substantive consequence, hence their success.

Liberals get the preverbal (and sometimes literal) house dropped on them for even a perception of such acumen.

People forget that the 20th century (WWI onward) was devastating for Left Wing on an individual basis. Just try to remember the last right winger to earn a bullet for their political work.

In the U.S. alone, imagine where we'd be today if just the John and Robert Kennedy, King, and/or Malcolm X had lived. The Obamas greatest contribution may be not Barack's presidency, but spending the rest of their lives helping organizing efforts....yet the danger will only increase in proportion to their success.

In short, Rick Parry can wave a gun around, yelling "Secede" and end up Secretary of Energy. What did Gabby Gifford get when she spoke?

And we can Never...ever...shoot back.

Just like wop, bring a knife to a gunfight.

You know, LBJ was a creepy old prick, but god damn he got some good stuff accomplished.

And I don't believe for a minute that we can't shoot back, what we can't do is miss when we do. So like my dad used to say: squeeze, don't jerk.
