Effective? Pfft! I'm just aiming for "warm and breathing" at this point. No, wait that's a lie. It only feels like that.
Let me explain: Today, October 18, 2025, began with a 5:30AM trip to the ER, which is an hour away, in a car with cooling system issues. The good folks at John C. Freemont emergency department had me up and ambulatory on the inside of an hour, and then we went back home for a quick breakfast, a switching out of some medical equipment, a reading of online documents pertaining to the hospital visit, then it was back in the poor ragged CRV and to the post office to mail in our prop 50 ballots, and on to the No KIngs rally in Oakhurst. This is the fourth one we've attended, and it was by far the largest. Inflatable costumes in the hot sun giving rise to comments about boiling frogs, protest songs from someone's playlist to sing along with, and the kind of camaraderie you usually have to go to a rock concert to experience. +/- 750 people in a town of <5K.
Then on to shop for groceries and make it home in time for the visiting nurse to come check on me.
Then, of course, as it is Saturday, the Professional Left Podcast. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate today's effectiveness at a solid 6.
Thank you again for the podcast. For the longest time, when I hear someone speak of the "end times" I mostly want to ask them "Which end?", but I have found that discretion is often the better part of avoiding long annoying crazy rants...
