It's not just that DFB has no idea what he's fucking talking about politically (no, we won't follow a goddamn monster, we, in fact, know enough about the manufacturing process for monsters that we fucking tried to warn y'all when you cranked yours up) but as a goddamn human being. Out here in the wild, basic moral judgements are not frivolous concepts one plays with to make content for mindless columns, but basic requirements for fucking survival. I've been going on about this for at least as long as you have been going on about DFB: fucking manners. My older brother was a biker and I have been surrounded by honest to gawd outlaws since I was a teenager, and it was from them that I learned that manners are not in fact some elective niceties that can be ignored once things start to get real, they are a technique for suppressing the homicide rate as the population density increases. Perhaps up in the rarefied space above the New York Fucking Times, nobody ever has to actually get along with actual bad people in order to live their ordinary lives, and as such DFB has never seen any reason to say, not piss off the folks you are running with by snatching money out of a burning barrel.
I guess what I'm trying to get at here is that it is a good idea to give your own process a good examination or three before you wholesale reject entire aspects of society because you think they are nuts.
What a weaselly little fuck he is.
Yes, it's rape culture and beyond: way out there in the theocratic/cult informed certainty that women are possessions to be done with as their male owners see fit.
I don't know what women these slime creatures ever met, but certainly not any of the women I have run with for the last forty years, most of whom would find rapid and effective ways to respond to such nonsense.
Anyway, thank you again for the podcast. The Dropkick Murphys have been propping up my mood-beat for a while now, and I recommend repeated viewings of their video "Who'll Stand With Us?" to beat back a little of the creeping shittiness they are trying to debilitate us with. Some times it doesn't take much, and Ken the fuck Casey delivers every goddamn time.
