Agree 100% with junior dude. Trump was the "change" candidate and Kamala was Republican light. We need to move left and not center. A new New Deal - full Nordic safety net. A choice not an echo.

Well, now that Fergus is down to less than 50% of the vote, the course corrections being called for are showing themselves to be what we always figured they were; opportunistic assholes trying to troll Democrats into abandoning their most popular policies.
Your description of those meetings reminded me of something the dearly departed Jeff Beck did back in 1989:

My Lords, we can't keep dancing along, pretending everything is just fine
The consequences are devastating
We must strike out and rescue this fine earth upon which we live
Mother Nature has suffered far too long and quite enough
Much is being said, my Lords, nothing is being done

[Chorus]
Nothing is being done
Nothing is being done
I repeat: nothing, nothing, nothing is being done
Then "I suggest the issue be passed to Mr. Beck" right before his guitar solo.

It's five minutes and three seconds that fully qualifies as self care.

I suppose Ms. Rubin will be so shocked when Fergus basically nukes the senate and recess appoints all of the trolls and hobgoblins he has nominated. Because he will do that. All of those "they currently don't have the votes" stories in the media are missing the goddamn point: without Gaetz, Fergus' second term doesn't work (I mean, it's not gonna work anyway, but he doesn't see any path forward that includes a functioning DOJ that isn't acting as his own personal law firm.)
Perhaps she can interview Susan Collins about it.
Thank you again for the podcast. It fucking snowed yesterday. We made it to town anyway, and yes I did get my second dose of the shingles vaccine, before Bobby Brainworm bollixes the availability of such things to poor people like me. The bank was closed, so I had $84 to buy a weeks worth of groceries for me and the cat. Vons gives you a coupon for 10% off of your grocery purchase when you get a vaccine at their pharmacy, and that worked out to four dollars and change. And four dollars is exactly what there is in my wallet right now. Being poor is hard, but after all of these years I'm fucking good at it. Perhaps I should have gotten good at something else...
