My first thought is to wonder "what the sources of Sam's income stream are these days?" That's been a reliable indicator of where people shake out on these things. For instance, the portion of the original Never-Trumper set who could NOT hook in to rich-liberal money and were stuck relying on their existing wingnut-based revenue (Glenn Beck, the National Review foamers-in-ties, etc.) went crawling back to Trump. So what part of Sam's income is making him gravitate toward perception laundering?
