Have you noticed how Republicans are always willing to sacrifice other people's kids to their own, failed political fantasies?
Have you noticed how Never Trumpers are still trying to con their audience into thinking that if we could just catch Republicans lining up to support Trump commiting one more crime, or one more act of treason or spewing out one more monstrous lie...then we could torch 'em! And all our Never Trumper superiors require of us stupid Democrats is that we behave flawlessly at all times, and never put a foot wrong!
On this subject, Nichols really went all-in. Mounting his high horse
Contrarian Indignation and riding it all the way out to where Jesus lost his
sandals. You and me, kiddos, we're just like MAGA.
So, are we still supposed to ignore the Never Trumper's open, seething
contempt for us and never never say a discouraging word in return because
something something the enemy of my enemy is something? Is that ridiculously one-sided deal which we never agreed to still in force?
Hey look! A two-fer! One smug, contrarian asshole reposting
another smug, contrarian asshole.
Simply posting his own fury and contempt for us stupid Liberals obviously did not slake Nichols' thirst for shitting on us. He hadda go scrounging for other people to tell us how terribly wrong we are.
Hey look! Another two-fer!
What a coincidence! I had just left a lecture by Tim Miller about how
our ridiculously high Liberal standards and ridiculously stringent Liberal
litmus tests are holding us back...
And Sara Longwell citing Josh Barro is certainly peak ... something:
I get the strong impression that ol' Tom would have relished the job of being
an asshole contrarian judge writing dissenting opinions on the Nuremberg
court.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the actions of these Nazi judges were in
complete accordance with Nazi law, which were enacted by the Nazi government. To
hold these men accountable for their actions would be a slap in the face of
the sacred idea of the Rule of Law!"
For his many sins, Tom has been gifted a byline at The Atlantic from which he can clutch his tiny pearls and scold the Left to much larger audience, and you haven't, so there you go.
From the undisputed king of bad political advice...
From the shoutiest shouter of shitty political advice...
And, inevitably...
But what about those savvy professional Democratic podcasters? Y'know, the kids who used to write jokes 'n such for president Obama and are now podcast moguls? Yeah, they, too, can, in the words of the late Kurt Vonnegut, “Go take a flying fuck at a rolling doughnut. Go take a flying fuck at the mooooooon.”
Because you know the corollary to the No Fair Remembering Stuff rule, right?
On the one hand, it would probably be rude and uncivil of me to reiterate for the hundredth time what an act of incandescent idiocy it was to hand over what little is left of the "Liberal" media to a small handful of recently-former Republicans who had previously spent their entire professional lives hating our living guts, opposing everything we believe in, and building the very same Republican monster factory that eventually drove them out of their own party and onto MSNBC.
Instead of, y'know, promoting actual Liberals who have actually been right about the Right all along.
On the other hand, I have never pretended to be anything other than rude and uncivil.

I love to read your pushback on these never-Trumpers, but could you try to have your screenshots of their idiocy in better focus, or maybe a little larger so that they are readable?
From Matt Groening's book "Work is Hell": The hideous boss monster from hell "How dare you move when I throw things at you."

Per usual the Democrats do one small thing that Republicans have done a hundred fold...pardon criminal friends and family, and suddenly the sky is falling. Brett Stephens, Tom Nichols and frankly any so called ally to the Democrats that don't contextualize this situation fairly can all go F themselves. I'm sick of this unilateral punitive pile on. Now that it's clear there is no line they will not cross I wonder how this country can ever find its footing again. The boiling frog is getting pretty hot now.
So not glad to see my own Democratic-ish Governor (Polis-CO) jump on Joe as well. And here I thought the Dems were getting it together a couple of months ago.
How does Hunter's pardon inoculate the entire massive "Biden Crime Family" as suggested by Faux Noise et al?
Purest distraction from Trump's appointed monsters. Biden should also pardon his brother and every single soul on Kash Patel's enemies list. And a hell of a lot of other people who's life they plan to destroy. Biden has been hugely stingy with giving pardons and commuting sentences for the federal death row.
Mmmmm.... As an outsider the retention of the power to pardon vested in a monarch albeit elected seems somewhat undemocratic in the 21st century.
I've found that a good rule of thumb is that when the voices of Washington are as united in this way, they are completely and utterly wrong and will pretend they never said it six months from now.
