The punditry has so internalized that the left of the Democratic Party is too purist to support sensible legislation that even a Dionne forgets that it was exactly two votes by so-called 'centrists' Manchin and Sinema that scuppered much of Biden's program. Progressives fought for their priorities and then were in Biden's corner when it came time to count the votes. But when Dionne, not the worst of the Wapo's columnists by a long shot, writes about struggles within the Democratic Party, he can't even remember the names of the culprits.
