Professional Left Podcast Episode 912: Things Break

"All great work is preparing yourself for the accident to happen." -- Sidney Lumet

  1. As a musician of 49 years I feel like I should tell you about an informal axiom of amateur recording: the better your playing at any particular session, the more likely it is that when you get to playback, it just won't be on there, and as such, there is nothing anyone could do to recover it. I can't even tell you how many times this has happened to me, even with decent recording equipment.
On the other hand, my old Sanyo cassette deck with a vocal mic in one side and a drum mic in the other made some fabulous recordings, at least one of which was dubbed off and used by a violin player as a demo that got him several jobs.
Well, as of right now it doesn't seem as if Fergus' excellent war adventure has turned into world war three or even another twenty-year middle east quagmire, but he is Fergus, and all of that stuff could still happen.
Yes, Republicans are liars. They can only claim ignorance so far, and given that they have access to the same internet that I do, that isn't very far at all any more. They have these shibboleths, or simply magic words that they believe make them immune from truth or reality. "TDS" and "delusion" are the two most common ones I come across. Others include "CNN" , "woke media" and "pedo".
I was happy to see Cuomo, Bill Clinton and Bloomberg get their asses handed to them. For one thing, there should not be an expiration date on sex-pest behavior, and for another, they just aren't the politicians they used to be, and maybe aren't the best we have to offer, no matter how fucking old or rich they are.
Thank you again for the podcast, and the professionalism (see what I did there?) it took to get it made and posted.
So it seems that I have lymphedema in my left leg, which is concerning as my stroke was on the right side of my brain which means the lower left leg is the part of me least connected to my brain. I only mention that because I remember Blue Gal saying she had trouble with it. Anyway, the weather is nice and Zsuzs got her car back so I got to go to town yesterday...
