Congratulations on 15 years! Sorry to hear about your Vet bills, I hope everyone is on the road to recovery. We are racking our own Vet bills up on this former Internet Kitty of the week. Ian is our Junior Dude.
Just asking, If you had a bakery make the cake. Did you run into any resistance of a baker refusing to make such a cake that would offend his political ideology and his personal religious beliefs?
Congratulations on fifteen years. This time in 2009 I was almost one year into learning how to live again after my stroke. You do have to adjust for perception with these fucks. The extent to which they have removed themselves from responding to objective reality is staggering, but only to those who have not so removed themselves. I once wrote something that began thusly: In the wild, the price for any creature who writes mistakes into their description of the world is always the same: they become dinner for a creature who didn't. The idea I was chasing in that bit was that on an evolutionary level, we have a tendency to reject lies, and to react negatively to being lied to. I still believe that, which makes the large-scale lie addiction these fucks display all the more staggering to behold. They are, just as they present, though, part of my description of the world, and I don't have any evidence at all that would support that description being in error. The part of me that grew up raising animals wants to take Orly Taitz and bop her on her nose, but we all know that nothing good would result in such action. If I was religious, I might want to save their souls, but I'm not, and really, I just want them to stop fucking up the country. They will not ever stop fucking up the country, and now that I'm 64, I no longer hold out any hope of them dying while I am still around. I was born and raised in California and have lived my entire life here. My dad worked for the US Forest Service for thirty years and I fought on a few forest fires when I was young. No amount of water is going to stop, or really even slow down very much a fire driven by warm, dry 50 to 100 mph winds. That's why they used a bellows in early forges. And some goddamn Republican is already calling for disaster relief to be withheld "until California changes its forest management policies" presuming, I guess, Los Angeles to be a forest. But there we go again. Wrong. Wrong. Wrongwrongwrongwrong. They don't respond to wrong. Thank you again for the podcast. Orly made me want to go watch the Daily Show segment titled "The Born Identity" but that shit has all been taken down, and it took me four pages of Google searching to even confirm I had spelled it correctly. The world is changing, and not always for the better.
Congratulations on 15 years!
