A year ago the promises filled the air like ticker-tape confetti. $2,000 rebate checks in every mailbox, DOGE sleuthing out $2 trillion in government waste to balance the books, tariffs so painless and juicy we’d never have to pay income taxes again, gas and electric bills sliced in half, and, of course, no new wars.
A vision of effortless prosperity, where the money rolled in, the bills disappeared, and reality was chloroformed and stuffed in a closet.

It's a real shame that so many people were so dogdamned stupid to believe in that load of moonshine. If not for the horrific collateral damage, I'd say "more power to 'em"...
ReplyDeleteMy troubling sense of reality based on prior voting of those who lean right in ideology which includes Independents, Libertarians and Oligarch Billionaires of the dictator mindset ,each. Mot to omit the lazy brains of swing voter species.
ReplyDeleteWe will see way too many continuing to vote for the GOP criminals again. Even now polling samples show 40% of GOP voters still worshipping the Cult leader and that includes too many right wing ass worms for congress. Not to forget the religious right. Like fishing, use the Crucifix for bait on the hook and they will bite on every time. The white superior white assured bait is racism.
Think about it, the Don and the JD who promote hating the foreigners both have foreign heritage wives who replaced good old American women in those jobs.
There Biblical misogamy has women in the home and submissive and quiet not to be heard. Yet There is Susan Collins in the senate and the Turning Point darling wife of Charlie Kirk taking over the screechy preachy business. Not in the kitchen taking care of the kids and cleaning the house. Does fit their interpretation of the Bible at all.
