Condemn the report as so awfully partisan, while ignoring that the Reps were determined not to participate in order to cover their own asses. And why is there such a fixation on achieving some transcendent state of bipartisanship anyhow? If one party was primarily responsible for enacting and administering the program the report is concerned with, do they really have a right to equal ownership of the investigation? Not if their only interest is obstruction.

The best part is that all of this is coming from a group of people who bleat on about "Freedom!" on a regular basis. They are fine with handing the power to destroy human beings using methods historically reserved for terrorizing a captive populace and breaking the politically inconvenient to a collection of agencies that claim the unchallenged and eternal right to decide who "the enemy" is. The same group now insists that any public evaluation or oversight of said powers is also verbotten, due to national security--naturally. Oh but Benghazi is a fucking betrayal.

I feel sick. Absent some form of redress, we will see the US government torture again.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13190550390894019841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11363027.post-64203990969017835252014-12-15T15:41:17.703-06:002014-12-15T15:41:17.703-06:00If only we had someone to argue against Dick Chene...If only we had someone to argue against Dick Cheney.

You know, someone who, let's say back in 1992, took the stand that the reason we don't want to get rid of Saddam is because of all the chaos that would bring, how we'd be stuck in a quagmire with no clear exit strategy. Someone who could have seen ISIS coming if we went to war to remove Saddam. You know, the other Dick Cheney, the one from the first Bush administration.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09764138019288507792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11363027.post-82131331167691616762014-12-15T05:25:41.881-06:002014-12-15T05:25:41.881-06:00Good morning, Mr. Glass.

Hell, we've been desperately trying to get him to tell us for ten years now, and he won't. He still won't. He teases us, he says thousands of lives were saved, and he won't tell us what information they got that was so helpful and what plot(s) were stopped. Oh, he's mentioned some, but they all turned out to be things that were stopped a year before his program even started, or were never put into operation, or were just desperate lies to make the pain stop for a while. He won't even explain why he won't tell us.Procopiushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17554355440319405363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11363027.post-7301072814232458322014-12-14T20:10:24.474-06:002014-12-14T20:10:24.474-06:00The thing that gets me about this "bipartisan...The thing that gets me about this "bipartisan" jawn is that the Republicans had every opportunity, as fully fledged members of the Committee, to participate in the investigation and subsequent report. All that stopped them was their determination never to allow such a bipartisan investigation to happen.

As a Scientist I know all about skepticism regarding sources for this reason and that, but come the end of the day there is no substitute for examining the primary materials and reading them into the record for all to see. Richard Bruce Cheney's pitiful whining about alleged efforts to smear him and his record are merely a smokescreen for the benefit of the willfully misled. History will judge him harshly.

Regards, HoraceMike Lumishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14083545582415707582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11363027.post-2414002888564124742014-12-14T18:54:58.129-06:002014-12-14T18:54:58.129-06:00There's certainly nothing here that I would ar...There's certainly nothing here that I would argue with - I just wanted to interject, as I feel must always be done, that the one time - wait, the two - I mean, three ... no, four - I'm sorry, the five times in his miserable little failure of a life that the country Dick Cheney claims to love actually DID want him on that wall, he scurried away as quickly as his little legs could carry him.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16137423464577067869noreply@blogger.com
