...Awesome and astute observations – love the rant.

Sadly, I think the Pres is just as astute - at observing and oration; he certainly isn’t an accomplished achiever. Even his signature effort for which he was to be immortalized was a side-show of cooperative failure.

And the GOP will likely rebound on us all, beginning with the midterm elections then a probable seat in the big office with the window too, leaving us with his only true accomplishment – that of weakening the liberal cause. Perhaps he should’ve kept on dancing while Clinton stayed at the pulpit.

Why fight when the foe is willing to kill fall on his own sword at the first engagement?? The GOP must have holes worn in their pants crotches from laughin and scrathcin til it hurts.

Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13829283375082711360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11363027.post-14881765191018764252014-05-25T20:16:18.016-05:002014-05-25T20:16:18.016-05:00I used to have a recording on my phone of Mike Mal...I used to have a recording on my phone of Mike Malloy reading that Oliver Sacks' piece. Or is this another one-off?

As much as I hate the Republicans, they hammer and hammer and hammer on a point until even their adversaries wind up repeating it. One cranky peroration at a fundraiser isn't going to make much of a difference. Yes, it's encouraging, but unless there's some follow-through, it will be of limited effect.gratuitousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11363027.post-51733974660422662072014-05-24T08:12:30.205-05:002014-05-24T08:12:30.205-05:00One of your best. In that time, I learned that you just fucking don't play nice with people who are that nucking futs and willfully st00pid in the world of actual politics. If they're going to scream like howler-monkeys no matter what you do, then you really give them something to scream about, and you make sure you enjoy doing so!

But we'll just have to see if this means that the party that nearly always strives to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and to back down in situations demanding backbone, has finally decided to stop playing the enabling codependent abused spouse.Mister Robotohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08724938709642010624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11363027.post-35254366698829716932014-05-24T07:48:31.649-05:002014-05-24T07:48:31.649-05:00The Peter Pan trope is really powerful. Just deserves in the three course meal style.

When it comes to Brooks, you have a diligent focus.

When it comes to the President reaching out, I think of it as projection to the media.
It has payed some dividends.
I hear there are GOP'ers that screech out loud of the Kenyan usurper while privately do not.
I can not provide evidence of this, which only allows for me to believe who they tell me they are.

You do understand what the vast right wing would do with the video and audio of an irate-angry black President?
You understand what Hank Aron had to endure for those that might come after?
Yes this is a different scenario...........

The difference a majority would make in the House and Senate for the President?
It seems to me that the Obama has employed many of the correct tones that forced the right's into their boxed ideology for all to see.

WI wonder where Jonah Goldberg rate on the Brooks-ie scale?

My question is why are so many Americans willing to buy that big gulp of cool aid and slam it down.
If Americans showed up and voted in 2010 for the President. The House would not be in this state and the Senate and it's filibuster fever would be on a diet.
The Gerrymandering would not have been installed for the next ten years.

But the President didn't close Guantanamo like he said , when the GOP House Majority would not appropriate a dime to do it. The whining over no single payer. The slow move to end "don't ask don't tell" Just so slow!
So We left him with a slight majority in the Senate and a minority in the House to work with.
voters did this.
Brooks is like the symptom of the alcoholic disease. Once you stop the drinking, you then need to address the character defects that causes the abuse cycle.
