If Aaron Sorkin wrote the script

And here I thought you were talking about the Senate session discussing the Detainee bill.

Network 23 years later.

Don't you just hate the weasels?

"THAT REMOTE IN YOUR HAND IS A CRACK PIPE!"

Truth. I usually don't care much for rap, but years ago the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy hit the nail on the head with a rap called "Television, the Drug of the Nation".

Yup. Fell in love with Sorkin with "Sports Night" which I liked even more than "The West Wing" at times. God, it's nice to have TV for grown ups with >double digit IQs again...

For multiple reasons, I cut most of the cord when it came to watching TV back in 1994.

This show is one of the few reasons not to use my tube for DVD movies.

by far and away my favorite thing of the new fall season. Smart writing, good acting and interesting themes. Good stuff...

Jericho on the other hand took and interesting primis and totally turned it into cheese.

KC - Don't forget "Winter of the Long Hot Summer" off that same album.

Michael Franti and Spear Head keep the music and the same spirit alive.

Those of us who do not have tv or cable in our houses love that most of all. Glad C&L picked it up or I would have missed it.

Thanks for posting it. Too bad it's only theatre. The actor is right. That remote in your hand is a crack pipe. Unfortunatley, people prove over and over they don't have the courage to wake up.

When is this show on? I've not heard of it, because I haven't watched TV in a couple of years, but I'd be willing to turn this one on.

Crack pipe? Nah, mate - it's an opiate.

Marx got it wrong. Religion is the crystal meth of the masses.

Actually, television is easy to control: just remember it's a tool, nothing more and nothing less. Be aware that it is controlled, and you've got it licked. Liking (and approving of) this momologue is all the proof you need.

Heh. "monologue", even.

Miss Cellania,
Studio 60 (On the Sunset Strip)

I believe NBC rebroadcasts the epi a few days later online, so there you go.

Skunq: I don't have the album. I just taped the rap off Dr. Demento.

KC,
I highly recommended listenting to DHoHhprsy (aka The Beatnigs). Winter of the Long Hot Summer was released on the same CD as Television - it's about Gulf War I. M. Franti and SpearHead continue to combine blisteringly smart lyrics with amazing music. here's da link:
