They don't go to Church. They *might* own a Bible. They get annoyed when someone uses Scripture to criticize *them*. They don't even have church weddings. I have even heard these people say it's a badly translated book. However, the moment someone mentions Teh Gay, they scowl and say, "Even THE BIBLE says it's wrong!". <br /><br />I have crossed paths with more "only Christian against Teh Gay" people than I can count. Most will only mention the Bible against gay people. Some will also refer to it about women knowing their place. <br /><br />Basically, when they don't want to feel bat that they are assholes.<br /><br />I think this is the people who that bishop is targeting. I think he is weighing the cost of telling the gays "you're icky" against the benefit of telling unthinking people "you don't have to feel bad for thinking they are icky, now let's pass the plate!".
