Professional Left Podcast #448

“When I see the Confederate flag, I see the attempt to raise an empire in slavery. It really, really is that simple. I don't understand how anybody with any sort of education on the Civil War can see anything else."
-- Ta-Nehisi Coates, writer

Oligarch to say is,

I promise you, if I only have all my labor under communist/ dictator rule.

Like would be so much simpler and much more productive and better for all of us.

Waiting does suck. I got much better at waiting when I was preparing for cataract surgery at our county hospital (Highland is the absolute best and thank you for my eyesight Dr. Huang) and using Paratransit to get back and forth from my appointments. Too blind to read, and there were a few three-plus hour waits, mostly for a new Paratransit ride after the appointment went long and blew off the first one. At least after the first surgery I could read a book with my left eye...
But I found this yesterday, and it puts the waiting into some perspective:

Thank you again for the podcast, the cat doesn't understand why I put the headphones on and ignore him on Saturday afternoons, but he'll get by on tuna and kibble...
